After dinner, we walked around the city for almost an hour, talking about everything except money.
At one point, he stopped outside a bookstore and asked what I'd do if money wasn't a problem.
I gave him my answer.
He smiled.
“Then maybe that's where you should start.”
When he dropped me home, he didn't try to come upstairs.
He just looked at me and said,
“Text me when you get inside.”
I got to my room, kicked off my shoes, and sat on the edge of my bed.
Then my phone buzzed.
It was him.
