โI think this bill is ripe for a declaration of incompatibility. And what an embarrassment that would be for the signature centre piece of human rights legislation to run a risk of incompatibility. Yet another case where a Judge is apparently more focused on the wellbeing of the violent male youth, than the brutalised girl. We agree with her mother. This derisory sentence is indeed disgraceful.

And the defective new builds are hiding and published in plain sight (see my post below). This is England's unspoken housing crisis where too much new-build stock isn't built to the standard it was represented, sold and mortgaged on.
@spencemads I think you wrote this article for @thetimes, do you have any further information? The irony of calling this a budget blueprint is that apparently omitting basic water-shedding details just pushes the cost onto housing maintenance down the road. Good design should weather gracefully, not create a defects bill.

Big news today: for the first time, construction product companies - including those that contributed to the Grenfell fire - will be forced to pay to resolve the building safety crisis.
Itโs shameful that companies like Arconic, Kingspan and Celotex have avoided picking up the bill to fix unsafe cladding
That will change as part of the new Building Safety Bill we voted on today.
I will do all I can to make sure none of these companies have access to public contracts, especially while the criminal justice process is ongoing.
