Love this perspective! We are all trying really hard!
As a fourth year I had a rotation with a kick-ass intern. She was ON IT. Communicating, checking tasks off, teaching, following up on everything, etc. I told her how amazing she was and she said “thank you, I’m trying *really* hard.” 1/

My biggest takeaway from the Titan story is that we absolutely could have coordinated, multinational efforts to ensure no migrant dies crossing the sea and we choose not to.

Breaking News: A pancreatic cancer vaccine provoked an immune response in half of the patients treated in a small trial, a finding that experts described as very promising. nyti.ms/3BhqG7E

This article brought a big smile to my face this morning! I definitely believe that the PIs who bring silliness and humor to science are some of the most influential
The non-Nature-approved headline was "Sh*t my PI says" when I originally pitched it. Then I handed it off to @Scatter_Cushion whose reporting really hit the punchline. Say what? The principal investigators who pass down wisdom through humour nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

Women’s pain is consistently ignored, downplayed, denied, treated with sedatives instead of pain medication, across the board in medicine. Suffering is considered part and parcel of the female experience.
Wondering if this was true so I asked my husband what he got prescribed when he had his wisdom teeth taken out and he said Percocet. I was told to take 800 mg as needed. Same dentist and mine was impacted. Damn.
