Interesting fact: A high school football game has 48 minutes on the clock.
But a study found the average play lasts just 5.6 seconds. At 130 plays, that’s roughly 12 minutes of actual action between BOTH teams.
Months in the weight room. Summer heat. Film. Practice. All for opportunities measured in literal seconds.
And you don’t know which 5.6 seconds will decide the game.
That backside block you took off? The pursuit you cut short because somebody else would get him?
That might’ve been it.

🏈 Offensive linemen need to understand that winning initial contact is only part of the rep.
Maintain leverage, keep your feet active, sustain your block and stay engaged through the whistle. Don’t give defenders an opportunity to disengage and work back into the play.

Every OL coach in America should show these 3 Tyler Booker reps to their room to emphasize what 'finishing' looks like.

Tough one Friday night. Didn't get the result we wanted, but the standard doesn't change.

@AlabamaFTBL Center @RacinDelgatty earns @rimingtontrophy Block of The Week
Why?
Because it’s FUNDAMENTALLY sound Center play.
1. Drive off the ball
2. Drive THROUGH target
3. Violent Hands - Not a Double Under
