Remind you It’s not a 21 point win cap. It’s covering the spread by 21. Only reason seton is where they are is they have been good at covering the spread as an underdog 😅 outside of the Ben frank game. But maybe the computer had the spread at -74.5 in which case they were close

IMO this is what makes it impossible for schools that weren’t expected to do well to move up. Even when they rerun the numbers each week, you can’t gain significant ground. It says preseason rankings last throughout the season but stops “well before” the postseason. Vague.

The MaxPreps formula is very complicated. In my opinion, ALA should be ranked higher because they beat some ranked teams. They are one of the hottest teams in 3A now. Unfortunately, we will never understand why MaxPreps doesn't rank ALA higher. Tempe sits at No. 29. If they defeat MDN, they'll likely make the biggest jump and advance to the 4A playoffs. But MaxPreps only determines which number they would jump to if they win. As I said, the formula is very complicated.

I will have two coverages involving “Must-win” scenarios. For Thursday’s coverage, I will stop by Tempe as the No. 29 Buffaloes take on No. 18 Marcos de Niza. The winner of this game clinches a region title but is not guaranteed a playoff spot. If Tempe wins, they’ll most likely get into the 4A playoffs, but MDN would already qualify with a win. This matchup has high stakes, and I am excited for this intriguing coverage! For Friday’s coverage, I am assigned to cover ALA-Ironwood’s football game as the Warriors visit No. 6 Valley Christian. ALA is ranked No. 16, and the top 16 qualify for the 3A playoffs. However, this is a must-win game for the Warriors. If they win, they’re in. If they lose, they'll need help from other 3A teams and will have to hope to stay in the playoffs.

Yes SFC 10-0 but only beat helix….. their SOS is trash! Not saying they ain’t good, but let’s be real.. granite just beat a great team and look at them, Rb beat Oside and still behind them!
