Our apartment building was built without fire breaks, despite them being in the plans. Although our developer/constructor are entirely responsible for this (and hid it) my service charge is £45k for this year in order to pay my share to put it right, cheers @RobertJenrick

If 2020 has taught us anything it’s that when the political will is there big decisions can taken, laws can be amended and funding can be found. This government can end the cladding scandal and ensure those responsible are held to account. “Do what is right not what is easy”

Manchester leaseholders are looking at bills of up to £120k to make their buildings safe to live in. Think any savings made over the past year will be going towards that @RishiSunak

Some of us are looking at more than half! Current estimates are two thirds of what we paid for our flat, just 5 years ago.

We also today publish a letter from @ukcag @BrumLag @SotonCAG @LeedsCladding to Robert Jenrick, the housing secretary, sent a month ago. He did not reply. His minister Lord Greenhalgh responded to them after I contacted MHCLG

Even putting to one side the fact thousands of people are living in fear, this could destabilise the entire housing market.

Maybe @BorisJohnson should spend some time living a flat covered in flammable cladding, paying extortionate costs for a waking watch and waiting for the bill to come through for the remediation work. I can assure him that this is much worse than living in Downing Street.
6% of homes unsafe and unmortgageable! How can the government let this happen in 2020! #EndOurCladdingScandal

The cost of putting these buildings right should not fall on leaseholders who bought their homes in good faith! We all did our due diligence and were told our homes would be safe!
We don't own these buildings @mhclg. And we should not be made responsible for ANY costs arising from past safety defects, which were caused by your failed building regulations &lack of oversight. Please take responsibility& accountability for your own failures. #claddingscandal

In my modest 1.5 bed flat, I have 8 heat & smoke detectors. Huge numbers in the common parts also. All connected to remote monitoring centre. When it goes off, noise is unbearable. Yet still @LFBTerryGooding & @NFCCChair insist on the random bloke in a vest! Why? #WWScandal
Where I live in Leeds, we have about 100 heat detectors & 100 smoke detectors... all connected to a centralised alarm system... all which will alert us to a fire within SECONDS. But @WYFRS and @mhclg think we need a bloke in a vest??? #WakingWatch #EndOurCladdingScandal 💸💰💶

Just wondering. Any idea how many politicians live in high rise blocks of flats? @ukcag @LKPleasehold

A small silver lining, I made it to 30 without having to declare bankruptcy (yet). We’re now worried by the time this #claddingscandal nightmare is over, if it ever will be.. it’ll be too late to start a family. Goodbye future 👋🏼
Abi Tubis, 29. Proud homeowner at 26. Wife and wanting to be a mother. Could be bankrupt by the time I’m 30. Not able to financially support a child. Heartbroken. #EndOurCladdingScandal @EstherMcVey1 @RobertJenrick @mhclg

£900mil, more than half the funds put up for fixing 100s of 1000s of homes with dangerous fire safety defects. @mhclg @RobertJenrick plz release the names of developers benefitting, so that we may check this against list of developers that have refused to remedy dangerous blocks.
Last week over 300 projects in England were told they‘re receiving a share of our £900m Getting Building Fund, and there’s £360m new brownfield investment. 🏠 Delivering up to 45,000 homes 👷‍♂️ Creating up to 85,000 new jobs 🌿 Reducing around 65 million kgs of CO2 emissions

@BorisJohnson It is morally indefensible that millions of people are living for 38 mths in dangerous flammable homes, being made bankrupt to pay for failure of regulation & industry, forced into mental & financial strain for no fault of our own. When will you #EndOurCladdingScandal?
