About $5.6B just left @binance hot wallets across Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron.
If it's confirmed as a hack, it's the largest in crypto history:
- ~$3.5B on Ethereum, incl. ~167K $ETH and ~$1.6B $USDT
- ~$1.44B in $BTC (~18,270 BTC)
- ~$630M on Tron
- @Tether_to and @circle froze ~$1.8B within hours
- More than 3x the Bybit hack ($1.5B, Feb 2025)
Binance says it's investigating. @cz_binance says user funds are safe.

Binance says $2.54B of the hacked funds is now frozen.
This includes:
- @Tether_to: $1.567B+ $USDT
- @circle: ~$823M $USDC
- @Ripple: ~$200M $RLUSD
- @worldlibertyfi: $27M $USD1
- @Paxos: $8M+ in $PAXG
That's roughly half the ~$5.6B taken, stopped within hours.
It's a win against bad actors. It's also a reminder that the assets now carrying most of crypto's volume can be frozen on demand by a handful of companies.
The attacker's move: rotating into $ETH, which nobody can freeze, and probably into $BTC if they can.
Stablecoins are making crypto safer and more usable. They're also making it less decentralized.

Most stablecoin launches beg you to hold the token. When I asked @BurntBanksy why anyone should hold $verUSD, he told me not to.
What @verona_dev is building instead:
- A dollar built for AI agents paying for verified data
- The goal is for the stablecoin to be invisible. You just see dollars
- $100M+ in launch commitments, $60M+ of it signed revenue set to flow through verUSD
- His prediction: big brands, even Starbucks, will launch their own
Anthony, which brand moves first?

Islamic finance is a $6 trillion market, and its institutions, funds and family offices usually need a scholar's approval before they hold anything. How many coins have one?
Bitcoin's rulings contradict each other. Ethereum's came before proof of stake. Epic Cash has a signed certificate from Dr. Mohamed Ali Elgari.
@EpicCashTech is the only crypto in the world that has a fatwa, is proof of work, fixed supply and private by default. @CryptoCoinShow covers it 👇

Anthony calls Verona “anti-AI” even though the team is building for AI agents and he already uses an agent to book flights.
His @CryptoCoinShow interview cleared up quite a few things for me.
@BurntBanksy (Anthony Anzalone) is pretty skeptical of promises that everyone will soon hand their online shopping over to AI. He has doubts about next year, too. Most people are still getting used to a chatbot as an alternative to a search engine. Trusting it with money and letting it act on its own takes a little longer.
Meanwhile, Anthony already has some fairly ordinary examples from his own life.
He kept putting off sorting out his airline miles. Eventually, he asked an agent to check his email, find his previous flights and sort out the mileage claims. According to him, it worked: miles from flights he had taken three to six months earlier appeared in his American Airlines account.
At the end of the full interview, he also mentions using an agent to book his flight back from Singapore.
These are easy tasks to relate to. Someone had something sitting on their to-do list for months. Now they can hand it over.
@verona_dev is being built with that gradual adoption in mind. Anthony uses the hockey analogy: a startup needs to head where the puck is going. Waiting until millions of people use agents every day before building the infrastructure would leave them starting pretty late.
His answer about MCP and x402 particularly caught my attention.
Asked about connecting agents to Verona, he says that work is already done. According to him, x402 has been live for quite some time, and the integrations are helping projects and making payouts easier. The next job is to build applications that need those capabilities.
The team’s main focus remains verifying data and storing those proofs so they can be reused.
That’s how I understand his “anti-AI” comment. As the internet fills with generated content, being able to verify a particular fact becomes more useful. An agent will eventually have to act on that information, sometimes with money involved.
The conversation also makes verUSD easier to understand.
Anthony says outright that he doesn’t need to convince people to hold the stablecoin. He wants payments flowing through the system. A user completes a mission, gets paid, transfers the money to a bank account or spends it with a card. They might have no interest in the name of the currency used along the way.
He gives payouts for Starbucks missions as a specific example of payments that will go through verUSD.
Having their own stablecoin also gives the team more flexibility in how they set up the economics. Anthony explains that working with USDC meant operating under someone else’s rules, including restrictions on offering yield to projects.
The $100 million figure is worth unpacking, too. In the interview, he describes roughly $60 million in committed revenue tied to future payments, plus another $40 million in institutional capital. It would be premature to count that entire amount as payment volume that has already gone through the system.
A few other details are easy to miss among all the AI discussion.
The team is discussing proof of reserves with a partner. Anthony sees a role for ZK here: proving the relevant information while preserving confidentiality.
At the time of recording, a post-quantum upgrade was being prepared to improve the blockchain’s resistance to quantum attacks. He expected it to launch around the time the interview came out.
What interests me most is how these different efforts are starting to connect. Products already need verification. Payments flow through those products. And agents will be able to use the existing connections as people start handing them more tasks.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
So🙄now I’m much more interested in watching which applications use these capabilities and which payments actually go through verUSD. The story about the forgotten miles is a good example of where it can begin: someone finally gets a task done that they’ve been putting off for half a year.

Ashton is the best! 4th time on the show and always amazing
AI agents can't open bank accounts. So how do they pay?
@verona_dev just launched verUSD, a dollar stablecoin built for AI agent payments, with about $60M in committed revenue behind it. verona:native

“I think millions is a small number for what we should be able to achieve.”
That's what @MartinElKhouri said in his interview with @CryptoCoinShow when asked about the 2.5M+ machines already visible on @peaq's public dashboard on machines.peaq.xyz
And apparently, that number matters a lot internally:
“It's the number one metric that matters. The number one metric that we look at every morning when we open our computer, every night when we go to sleep, is that machine count.”
2.5M+ machines sounds like a lot.
For peaq, apparently, it's just the beginning.
“The goal is to get it to the billions.”
That's quite a target.
Ship it! 🚀

2026 has been a pretty ridiculous year for investors.
The first couple of months saw international equities and cyclicals outperforming. Then we had the March/April selloff, an enormous amount of fear around the geopolitical situation, and an equity recovery that was increasingly led by technology.
A lot of people got thrown off by those shifts.
I discussed this with @Ashton_Addison_ earlier this week on the @CryptoCoinShow and why I'm most interested in the final quarter of the year.
Q4 of a US midterm election year has historically been one of the strongest periods of the presidential cycle, with that strength often extending into the following year.
Meanwhile, earnings growth across the AI infrastructure companies I've been following remains exceptional.
I've stayed heavily exposed to that part of the market throughout the year.
The next few months will be interesting to watch, especially with yields remaining elevated and the dollar continuing to influence liquidity conditions.

I got asked whether I think OpenAI and Anthropic are overvalued during my interview with @CryptoCoinShow.
It's an interesting question when you consider how much capital is going into these companies at private valuations. But I've personally been much more interested in owning the companies they're spending that money with.
$MU is a great example of that in my portfolio. Same with $TSM.
The model labs are scaling at a pace we've never seen in business history and the demand they're creating for compute keeps growing.
I'm curious to see where their valuations sit once they're accessible in public markets.

Our co-founder & CEO @Kha_N_T joined @CryptoCoinShow to discuss what it takes to deliver reliable crypto market data.
Key insights from the interview:
- How Birdeye grew to serve 5,000+ enterprise clients while remaining bootstrapped through market downturns.
- How Birdeye reconciles trade data from hundreds of sources and delivers it to clients within seconds, with sub-second latency as the next milestone.
- Why RWA tokenization is increasing demand for onchain data that meets TradFi standards.

Bringing institutional finance onchain requires more than blockchain infrastructure. It needs tooling that fits into how businesses already operate.
@m_at_anvil joined @CryptoCoinShow to discuss Anvil’s latest milestones across institutional participation, real-world adoption, & the new SDK. All pushing toward a direct, more capital-efficient way to bring finance onchain.
Anvil lets you lock up the crypto you already hold as a guaranteed promise to pay, without selling it. We sat down with CEO Max Schwartz on the new @anvil_xyz SDK, the $5M ethereum:0xaeeaa594e7dc112d67b8547fe9767a02c15b5597 purchase and @Bullish bringing Anvil into its operations.

I've been going to security token conferences since 2018 (Polycon Bahamas anyone?). Everyone wanted to tokenize. Nobody could trade, because there was no one on the other side.
Liquidity has been the 10 year hurdle. After sitting down with of @JohannKerbrat of @RobinhoodCrypto this week, I think it is finally breaking:
Since Robinhood Chain launched July 1:
• $1.6B TVL, $2.2B total asset market cap
• $170M in stock tokens across 190 assets
• 70%+ of stock token trading happens outside exchange hours
That 70% part is the key. Trump likes to make announcements Friday after the close. With stocks liquid 24/7, you can react that night instead of sitting on your hands until Monday.

I had the chance to sit down with @JohannKerbrat of @RobinhoodCrypto to talk about Robinhood Chain and where tokenized stocks go from here.
He sees memecoin activity bringing retail users and liquidity onto the chain. At the same time, Robinhood is building its stock tokens so developers can use them as a foundation for new products.
Here's a teaser. The full interview is coming soon on @CryptoCoinShow.

Not all "permanence" on blockchain is the same.
In my conversation with @arietrouw of @OfficialXYO, he explained two kinds.
"Can't be lost" means your data is stored forever, which is very expensive, and he argues nothing fully guarantees it, because things can still get lost.
"Can't be changed" means your data is locked so nobody can alter it after the fact, and that can take just one hash for as much data as you want.
That second kind is the problem blockchains actually solve: proving something hasn't been tampered with.
They've shown this use case perfectly with their new, simple crypto card game with @Gate AI. Your prediction against the AI is locked $XYO layer one onchain, and nobody can change it once the result is in.
As AI produces more and more of what we see online, being able to prove something hasn't been changed will only matter more, and blockchain is the tool built for that.
