My female boss called me into her office at exactly 6 p.m.
I thought she wanted to discuss a project, but when I entered, she closed the door.
Boss: “Are you seeing anyone?”
Me: “Why do you ask?”
Boss: “Because I’ve been thinking about you outside this office.”
I laughed nervously.
Me: “I hope this is still a work conversation.”
She smiled.
Boss: “Not entirely. I want to take you on a date, and I want you to be honest about whether you’re attracted to me.”
I stared at her.
Me: “You’re my boss. Are you seriously asking me out?”
Boss: “I’m seriously asking. But I don’t want you to feel pressured to say yes.”
Then she closed her laptop and added:
Boss: “There’s something else I want to discuss, but not while I’m your boss.”
I became even more confused.
Me: “What does that mean?”
She leaned back in her chair.
Boss: “It means I’ve already spoken to the board about stepping down from managing your department.”

Do you know how backwards we must be as a country to consider the shops of Pakistanis, Somalis, Nigerians,Ethiopians etc as “the economy” and the Government consistently making noise about protecting “the economy” .
Do you have any idea how much s*** we are in if our own government considers an illicit economy as part of “the economy” so much so that the President of the country would send out the army and stand at a BUSINESS event to protect the so called “economy” instead of getting rid of it?? ‼️

You said it's "pan-Africanism" when it was done to us. Why is it painful now that it's being done to you?
No African is a foreigner in Africa, your passport belongs to all Africans. When you encouraged it in SA, did you think your turn would not come?

Khayelitsha, Cape Town:
A man found himself in a desperate situation when his sister was stabbed and urgently needed medical attention. After waiting for an ambulance that was taking too long to arrive, he decided to take matters into his own hands by stopping a minibus taxi and asking the driver to transport them to the entrance of a nearby public hospital.
Unfortunately, the man did not have any cash on him at the time. He explained his situation to the driver and assured him that he would withdraw the money and pay as soon as the medical staff had rushed his sister into the trauma unit.
However, the driver reportedly changed his mind and indicated that he would not continue the journey without receiving cash upfront. Despite the man's desperate pleas and even his offer to pay R1,000 for the trip, the driver refused to take them directly to the hospital and instead stopped at a nearby filling station.
With his sister still seriously injured and helpless inside the minibus, the man had no choice but to leave her there temporarily while he rushed to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash.
I felt this was an important incident to share, particularly at a time when several cities in South Africa are moving towards embracing a cashless economy.
Although banks and financial institutions have made significant progress in providing convenient digital payment solutions, including instant EFTs and other electronic payment methods, a considerable portion of our population still relies heavily on cash transactions.
The most heartbreaking aspect of this incident is that an urgent attempt to save a human life was delayed because of money.💔
