Whoa. How it started…
Someday, when the next generation asks us
what we did in this moment to protect our freedoms,
will we be able to say: everything we could?
Voting ends November 5th.

Freedom for All
America was founded on a dream of freedom, one that has yet to come true. But we decide what's possible.

Just so you understand: Leah runs the most consequential grassroots, Dem-aligned coalition in the country. She and Indivisible will make your life a living hell and end your tenure in Democratic politics.
Act accordingly.
Sarah claims here that voters didn't know who Harris was. This is absolutely incorrect. In our post-24 focus groups we had voters repeat the Harris message - nearly VERBATIM, from being at her rallies! - and conclude "there was nothing there for me."
The Bulwark wondered before the 2024 election that if Harris lost with a centrist message, "does that mean it's on us?
So I asked @SarahLongwell25.
"It's definitely not on us," she told me.
Another great exchange with Sarah for Zeteo.

For those keeping score at home, in this post Van Jones wrote:
4️⃣5️⃣ words about Republicans’ blatant anti-Muslim fear mongering.
4️⃣8️⃣3️⃣ words about an ad El-Sayed had absolutely nothing to do with and another ad that briefly included Tucker Carlson saying he would never vote for Mike Rogers (and did not even mention El-Sayed).
Something is going horribly wrong in the Senate race in Michigan. And I am going to keep calling it out.
On the one hand, the Republicans are conducting a campaign of blatant anti-Muslim fear mongering. Mike Rogers, Donald Trump and the rest of the GOP need to knock it off. Mike needs to personally and repeatedly denounce hate against Muslims.
But now, at the same time, we have TWO ads from the Democratic side that ALSO traffic in hate and intolerance — causing alarm for some Black and Jewish voters.
Seriously— WTF ????
The first ad was from Rebellion PAC (NOT the official Abdul El-Sayyed campaign). It suggested that Americans can’t buy groceries because the USA sends so much money to Israel.
That is a lie. The USA spends less than 00.1 percent of our federal budget on support for Israel. But this ad pretends bananas cost too much because the Jewish state is bleeding us dry. TOTALLY nuts. And yet — this kind of thinking has always put Jewish lives at risk. Blaming Jews for everyone’s economic problems has a long, bloody history.
Abdul did try to separate himself from the ad. He accurately noted that his campaign didn’t produce it. But the problem is: if you listen, Abdul actually NEVER DENOUNCED the CONTENT of the ad. He never said, “This ad is wrong.”
He just said, “Hey, it wasn’t me.” 😬😬😬
That ad — and Abdul’s refusal to forthrightly denounce it — is scaring some Jewish Democrats in Michigan, who now are more reluctant to vote for him.
In other words, that one ad alone is jeopardizing our party’s shot at taking back the U.S. Senate.
BUT IT GETS WORSE!
Then Abdul’s formal, official campaign put out its OWN ad — which features none other than the vile and contemptible Tucker Carlson (!!!). As you know, Tucker Carlson is a rabid, anti-Black bigot who also traffics in anti-Jewish stereotypes. He is anathema to most Black people and most Jews.
No Democrat should ever celebrate the words of a white nationalist who actively undermines the safety of Black people and Jewish people.
Moreover, given the importance of Black and Jewish Democrats to our victory in Michigan, the decision to include Tucker Carlson in any Democratic ad there is truly baffling.
Why am I speaking out about this now? Because I want Democrats to build a winning coalition — now and into the future. Chasing off any Black or Jewish voters is a path to defeat — both in the short term and the long term.
As proud Democrats, it can feel uncomfortable or risky to speak against intolerance in our own party, especially just days before a national election. It would be easier for us to let this stuff slide, shut up and close ranks.
But that would make us hypocrites. For 10 years, we Democrats have watched with dismay and disgust as Republicans (who know better) have refused to challenge ANY bad ideas or bad actions in their own ranks. As a result, their party curdled into a cult — one that is now wrecking the country AND falling apart.
As Democrats, we should not make the same mistake.
Anti-Muslim hate is wrong. Period.
Anti-Jewish hate is wrong. Period.
Tucker Carlson’s white nationalism is wrong. Period.
All candidates in Michigan need to say that clearly— and then pull down/denounce any ads that normalize hate or elevate hate mongers.

I don't know what the fuck is going on here but if you supported Stevens and you don't want to be associated with one of the most disgraceful, bigoted ratfucking attempts in recent political history I encourage you to let her know that this must stop immediately
On the eve of the eve of the eve of our BIG and important election, a unifying moment has arrived, our democratic nominee for U.S Senate disavows the Rebellion PAC ad made by Hasan Piker’s uncle that claims Jews are responsible for America’s economic woes. We have learned from party leaders and emissaries, as reported in the news media that he has.
On Sunday I will join with the Great Democratic leader, Jim Clyburn and Dr El Sayed for a church service in the beautiful city of Detroit.
The political coalition of Black and Jewish voices that have carried Michigan and this country through so many storms to the righteous path of liberal democracy and equal opportunity for all will ring out. Full statement here:

You have just decided to publicly attack our research, six days before the vote on the California billionaire wealth tax.
Your attempt to discredit our work and that of our numerous academic colleagues is pathetic.

If one more person compares the situation in MI with the Uncommitted movement I'm gonna lose it.
Uncommitted was a primary play. By this point in the cycle the Uncommitted leaders were literally running anti-Trump ads.
Stop twisting history to justify your own shitty behavior.

Working on something about the assymetry of anti-trans vs. pro-trans spending and the $78 million spent on anti-trans advertising in Texas this year is an insane 29x the entire annual budget of the largest LGBT rights organization in that state
This ad is a hot flaming mess

For example, @Hamilton4Kansas's ad lands exactly where voters are: stuck between two extremes.
He backs secure borders & ICE enforcement focused on serious criminals, plus year-round ag visas and a path to legal status for farmworkers already here.

Sen. Wiener once told me to not worry about a harmful, permanent piece of legislation to expel student protesters from public universities b/c “the war will be over by 2025.” I told him I envied his naïvety & had nothing to say to him ever again. I have nothing to say to him now.
Most pro-Palestine activists do not support Scott Wiener for Congress even though he doesn't support U.S. aid to Israel and calls it a genocide.
To understand why, activists say, requires looking into his record.
