Don’t think another PM has had quite the confidence and charisma of Tony Blair
Tony Blair humorously admits the Conservatives policy on hospital cleanliness had slipped his mind, with his Cabinet forgetting the policy too. (September 2004)

Is this changing composition of London’s labour market rather than everyone enjoying strong pay growth As more workers are IT, legal & finance professionals / managers & less in manufacturing or hospitality, this will naturally pull up ‘median’ worker’s earners
More than half of all London full-time workers are now higher-rate taxpayers!

For example if the typical restaurant manager in London was on £24k in 2000, are they likely to be on £53k now? Mmm not so sure

"All right, Hans, time to go. But he ate my last meal." "If that's the worst thing that happens to you today, consider yourself lucky." "Are you really allowed to execute people at a local jail?!"

I’m not a huge working from home fan (hate sitting on Teams calls etc) but why on earth would anyone endure a 4 hour commute? When (not if) your commute is delayed, that becomes a 5-6 hour round trip. Then need to be up again at silly O’clock in the morning
My mate’s been offered two jobs A) £52k a year working from home B) £65k a year, but with a 4-hour commute every day Which one are you taking? Personally, I’d say the extra £13k isn’t worth losing 4 hours of my day travelling to and from work

I once had a (in theory) 45 min door to door commute on two trains and one bus Regularly was a disaster. 5 minute delay due to traffic and you’d miss all your connections. 2 hours + to get home

Is the answer that they’re after: “Captain of a losing team because I’m movivated by opportunities to lead high potential teams through periods of adversity”
Interesting Goldman Sachs interview question. Your answer reveals more about you than you think.

I had not even thought about that the survivors of Twin Towers attacks then found themselves unemployed Along with employees of workers of firms near to ground zero
Unemployed applicants apply for work at the Twin Tower Job Link Center in Queens, New York City. 25,000 people who worked in the World Trade Center suddenly lost their jobs on September 11, and a further 10,000 who worked near the World Trade Center are temporarily furloughed while Ground Zero is sealed off.

Do not opt out of your pension You are throwing free money away (employer contributions, tax relief & compound growth) You do not want to be working at 70
Every Gen Z that comes through our office gets a lecture on our generous company pension, told to go on the pension training provided, and let loose with a compound interest calculator. The most basic of lesson not provided in any earlier form of education they’ve had.

*Unless you are severe debt problems now or you know your pay is going to increase significantly - and so paying more into your pension soon will be easier (more disposable cash, higher tax relief more than offsets lost employer contributions and compounding during your pause)

OH MY GOD I KNEW IT I KNEW IT WOULD COME IN HANDY SOME DAY
A passenger who entered the cockpit during the attack aboard a flydubai flight to Israel told Netanyahu he pulled back on the controls to help stop the aircraft’s dive, adding that watching the television series “Air Crash Investigation” had helped him understand what to do.
