This morning, I asked Keith Siegel what it meant to him to cast his ballot today. He answered:
“To me, voting is about freedom, responsibility and hope for the future of our country. After spending 484 days in captivity in Gaza, being free and having the right to vote carries a deeper meaning for me. Freedom is not something I take for granted. It means having a voice, being able to make choices, and having a say in the future of our country. I believe our leaders must prioritize human life, dignity, peace, and security. When I vote, I am exercising a right that I deeply value and expressing my hope that our children, grandchildren and future generations will live in a country where freedom, democracy and humanity prevail.”

It's 4 blocks from Cal Anderson Park, where an anti-Israel campus walkout march, organized by groups with histories of vandalism and assault, is set for noon today.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a Dubai-to-Israel flight landed safely at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia after one pilot allegedly stabbed the other and tried to sabotage the aircraft.
Citing a passenger’s account, he said the plane began diving before the passenger and crew members entered the cockpit, subdued the pilot and helped stabilize the aircraft.
All passengers were reported safe. Saudi authorities arrested the pilot and were questioning him, the prime minister said.
Israeli security agencies are preparing for possible further threats, while officials coordinate the passengers’ return to Israel.
