How I wake up knowing I’m morally infallible with no ideological inconsistencies and that my enemies are ontologically evil
“If it moves, subpoena it.”
James Carville makes the priority clear: not Medicare for All or DEI, but humiliating Donald Trump.
It was never about quality of life. It was never about affordability. It was always about revenge.
The strategy: “If it moves subpoena it.”
That won’t lower anyone’s grocery bill. But according to Carville, that isn’t the reward his base is looking for.
It’s somewhat disheartening writing the occasional group project at university, and realising how terrible many intelligent people are at writing basic sentences.

Buttigieg polls at 0% with black people.
Ossoff will have Rev. Warnock stumping with him and has been to a cookout or two.
Kamala has the charisma of mayonnaise.
Ossoff oozes it.
AOC represents a bunch of literal Jacobins in a gerrymandered-ass district.
Ossoff represents the entire state of *Georgia*, which was solid red not too long ago.
Newsom is a walking advertisement for the old, corrupt establishment (and California dysfunction.)
Ossoff is the youngest incumbent senator. He’s only held elected office for 6 years. Georgia has been run by republicans and he’s been a minority junior senator during half that time; there’s nothing to really tar him with. (He has the Obama clean slate of not having to have actually done anything!)
I think he’s the best money as the dem nominee, but fwiw I’m a conservative so I don’t really know dem politics outside of the libs in my family.
I’ve seen enough. Welcome back Bobby Kennedy!
The Republican runoff for U.S. Senate had hardly ended when Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff gave his senior campaign staff a two-word directive.
“Bury him.” #gapol

Did counties where gas prices hit harder swing further against the Republicans than similar neighbors?
My pre-registered test, filed the day before the midterms, finds no sign of this. That's not to say that gas prices didn't matter, but it sheds some light on the mechanism.
🧵
How will high gas prices affect the midterms?
It's an important question but hard to answer empirically. I've written down a plan to test part of it, and I'll publish my first results on Thursday, when most of the vote is in. 1/🧵

Scandal erupts in Denmark over TV show that brutally pranked comedian for four months
Danish comedian Rasmus Wallbridge believed he was working with his friend Martin Larsen on a film adaptation of their long-standing idea — a comedy in the style of Scary Movie.
In reality, the film project was an elaborate setup by broadcaster TV 2: 149 people, including Larsen, played out a staged scenario in front of Rasmus while hidden cameras captured everything.
The footage was turned into a six-part series called Everybody Loves Rasmus.
The comedian only discovered the truth at the end of filming. He initially took the prank calmly and agreed to the show being broadcast.
However, after the first episode aired on October 26, the programme triggered a wave of criticism. Viewers, comedians and TV presenters described what happened as bullying and psychological abuse. One presenter called it “psychological torture”.
On October 31, Wallbridge said he was not ready to take part in the discussion and asked the broadcaster not to use such methods again. That same day, TV 2 removed the show from all platforms and apologised to the comedian.
Denmark’s Culture Minister also weighed in on the scandal, describing the programme as a “tasteless psychological experiment” and accusing the broadcaster of violating its own ethical standards.

My student assistant salary in Denmark is €20 an hour, which is the defacto minimum wage for that kind of employment. The median salary of all French workers is €17 an hour.
