Hearing reports of a memorable first press conference for the new Lord Mayor… @WINNews_Tas at 5.30 #politas #lgtas
Maybe im misunderstanding this but does Wooley imply here that he thought that the Mayor could just... cut rates for everyone via fiat?
- Charles Wooley (Hobart)
- Jo Westwood (Kingborough)
- Drew Jenner (Clarence)
- Casey Farrell (Derwent Valley)
- Greg Rapsin (Glamoregan Spring Bay)
- Chloe Foster (Waratah Wynard)
- Abby McKibben (Huon)
Facebook post from Blomeley, might be indicating he's going to immediately resign his council seat?

The very funny, unlikely outcome, that Andrew Jenner wins the Deputy Mayoral contest and Clarence has mayor Andrew Jenner and Deputy Mayor Andrew Jenner

As a sidenote the whole 'you need a credit card thing' is actually not correct btw! Steam doesnt say this but a Debit Mastercard with identity attribute verification *will work*
I let my friend use my Macquarie Debit Card and she was able to login no problem!

Gamers have been contacting my office about being locked out of their accounts and the genuine anxiety this has caused, so I took it to the eSafety Commissioner in Estimates. eSafety agrees it’s not fair and will keep my office updated as they push Steam for better options.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Steam does not lock users out of their accounts. It restricts only R18+ store pages and new mature purchases behind credit card verification for Australian users; libraries, existing games and other features remain accessible.

Ooh first surprise of the day, Gerald Blizzard leading but under possible threat in Circular Head!

I think that the progressive part of council also just had a 'name recognition' problem as well
Lots of prominent Hobartians running on the right, losing both Reynolds & Burnet, vote getters 1 & 2 last time around, cannot have helped one bit

Some thoughts on the Hobart local government election results, expected today.
1. The election was about the current council. The result will be a judgment on the performance of the 2022-2026 HCC. #politas
(though @Ryan_Posselt and Tiffany Ashdown do deserve credit for actually hitting the doors early instead of waiting till like August)
