Do any of my fellow pastors ever look at the clock on a Saturday night and have to give yourself permission to be done working?

A publisher formed by a schismatic heretic for the sake of publishing his own material is far different from publishing with a firm that has other materials you would object to.
The whole “I don’t like so-and-so because he publishes with so-and-so” business strikes me as small-minded. It’s also impossible to carry out consistently. Pick any publisher you like and see how far into the catalog of contents or its editors before you find a man or doctrine you disagree with. It won't take long. I’ve worked with RHB, Founders, Christian Focus, and now Canon, among others. They’ve all done a good job, and I’ve had my differences with each of them. I still catch flak for publishing with Desiring God, but frankly, I don’t care much. I've even published with Heidelblog now that I think of it! Judge a man by what he says and writes. If you think he’s in error, quote him and make your case. And frankly, I'm glad @canonpress is willing to publish books like this which other big houses wouldn't dare touch, simply because it's sure to ruffle feathers and name a few names.

Conservatives need to get back to the following and go all in: Save the unborn Uphold and defend the family from all perversions Strong borders Anti-crime Balance the budget and reduce government. And as Christians we give all to preach the gospel because this world isn’t home

I care so much about my nation and the souls that fill it that I’m going to keep preaching Christ and his gospel this Sunday. Pastors, do the same

Thankful for the opportunity to write for JIRBS. Here I deal with the "gods" and the question of monotheism. How did we get to the place today where evangelicals are saying other gods really exist? You can get the article at @BrokenWharfe: nitter.cf/BrokenWharfe/status/21…

2LCF 13.1 says "true holiness." "Holiness" is a quality inhering in the saint and "true" indicates that it is real or genuine. A quantitative framing isn't helpful here. The question is whether we truly share in God's holiness (Heb 12:10), not how much of it we share in.

On the latest Everyday Pastor episode, @LigonDuncan asked @JoelBeeke what we can learn from the Puritan Thomas Goodwin. Don’t miss Dr. Beeke’s answer. One of the most special moments we’ve ever had on the show.

The only people God ever uses are the weak, poor, and needy. It’s good to be reminded of who we are so we look to who He is. Pastor, look to the sufficiency of Christ this morning. He is enough

For just one recent example of this, notice how Christians will passionately debate which movies are acceptable, while remaining indifferent to teachings on God and Christ that are functionally heretical. Again, one of our great tasks in this generation is convincing conservative Christians that their theological instincts are quite liberal.
Horton is right. It’s shocking how many pastors have detailed views on geopolitical or cultural matters, but aren’t sure if the Nicene Creed is biblical. “It is amazing what a lot of Christians (including many pastors) seem absolutely certain about and what they regard as up in the air. Although there is not a single passage in the Bible that tells us what Jesus would do on a whole host of personal and social issues of morality, economics, politics, and law, we often hear confident jeremiads and assertions by the same people who express ambiguity (disguised as humility) about matters clearly addressed and treated as matters of great importance in Scripture.” - Michael Horton
