The latest footage from Gaza. It wasn't just Israel who did this. The West did this. We will never scrub the shame away.

Thank you to Sumitomo Electric UK Power Cables for the invitation to the opening of the new factory in Nigg. Huge opportunity to bring hundreds of skilled jobs in renewables to Scotland.

Deputy General Secretary Dave Moxham speaking at the @TUG_SNP Fringe at #SNP26. Public sector reform can happen but only on the basis it enhances, not decimates, workers and their communities.

Delighted to have contributed to the @Scottishleftrev. As Scotland navigates a looming fiscal crisis in an age of climate breakdown, one thing is abundantly clear: the cost of delayed action will far outweigh the costs of action today. scottishleftreview.scot/tack…

Deputy General Secretary @DaveSTUC speaking at the @FutureEconScot Fringe event at #SNP26. As we transition to Net-Zero, the priorities of communities and workers must be front and centre. We cannot allow Scotland's renewables sector to be a playground for the rich.

Public sector reform cannot be government speak for cuts. Workers can provide an alternative. We're launching The Workers' Inquiry. We can improve our public services but that requires investment and improvements, not cuts and closures. Have your say. stuc.org.uk/news/news/the-wo…

20,000 public sector jobs cannot be barbarically cut. We can improve our public services but only if workers' voices are at the heart of any change. Today we launch the Workers' Inquiry to ensure just that. @RozFoyer/@Dennynews/@Daily_Record dailyrecord.co.uk/news/polit…

Scotland needs an accessible and publicly owned bus network. To see the Cabinet Secretary prioritise meeting profit making operators over workers in the development of the Better Buses legislation was troubling. @therachelamery/@TheScotsman scotsman.com/news/politics/t…

Trade unions have engaged in good faith with the Scottish Government on public service reform. Workers livelihoods are at stake. We won't condone "reform" that means government cuts from compulsory redundancies. 📰 @thetimes / @UniteScotland thetimes.com/uk/scotland/art…

🔥Quite the statement from Neil Gray, The ongoing annual erosion of the SFRS budget by his government has stripped nearly £900 million of spending capacity from the SFRS, slashed over 1200 frontline firefighter posts and amassed a capital backlog of over £800 million in building maintenance costs. In 2023 the SFRS cut 10 frontline fire appliances and 166 firefighter posts due to budget pressures. In June the Board ratified a package of station closures, changes to firefighter shift patterns and reductions to emergency cover at nights and weekend. Perhaps the Cab Sec can explain how these measures aren't cuts?👇🔥🚒@fbunational @FBUScotNorth @WestScotlandFBU @FbuEast @FBU_Scotland_EC @AngusSproul @JMcKScotRegSec @UnityConsults @fire_scot @neilcgray @JohnSwinney

🔥Today the Liberal Democrats published a dossier on the crisis in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. We need urgent action to end over a decade of cuts that have had a major impact on fire resilience across Scotland - you can read it here👇🔥🚒@fbunational @FBUScotNorth @FbuEast @WestScotlandFBU @FBU_Scotland_EC @AngusSproul @JMcKScotRegSec @UnityConsults @fire_scot @JohnSwinney

🔥The last 6 months have seen multiple large scale fires in the towns, cities and countryside across Scotland. Year on year cuts to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have reduced the organisation's capacity to respond, which cannot continue. The FBU is seeking a meeting with the First Minister to discuss these vitally important issues🔥🚒 @fbunational @FBUScotNorth @WestScotlandFBU @FbuEast @FBU_Scotland_EC @AngusSproul @JMcKScotRegSec @UnityConsults @fire_scot @JohnSwinney

The event drew counter protesters. They said they agreed with efforts to make Glasgow’s streets safer for women, but that the focus should be on all dangerous men. Our attempt to interview one woman was repeatedly interrupted.
