In the final week of the 2026 midterms, no media market will see more advertising money than Detroit.
The city and its surrounding areas are getting hit with nearly $60 million in ad spending this week alone — nearly twice as much as No. 2 on the list, Los Angeles at $32.5 million, and third, New York at about $31.4 million, according to @AdImpact_Pol data.

Some of my favorite ad data, via @AdImpact_Pol --
These are the issues that got the most campaign ad money, from both parties combined, since the start of 2025 through today.
(AdImpact currently tracks ~100 of these issue tags. Note these totals don't sum, because a single ad can mention multiple issues):

One of the signs that forced the Japanese to acknowledge the war was finished was the deployment of dedicated Cheesecake barges during latter parts of the Philippine & Okinawa
campaigns so US troops could enjoy fresh Cheesecake at the front.

#OHSen just crossed $500M in total aired ad spending and future reservations!
This is the first political cycle in which multiple non-presidential races have surpassed $500M.
Four races from this cycle now rank among the ten most expensive non-presidential races on record.

Great data from @BrennanCenter illustrating the growing dominance of political megadonors:
"The donations coming from the top 40 donors for the midterms total more than eight times the amount from the top 40 donors by mid-October in the 2014 midterms (the first full midterm cycle after Citizens United), adjusted for inflation. The cutoff to be in the top 40 has also increased to 10 times what it was four cycles ago, to $25 million."

Laugh all you want but Cheesecake Factories helped this country win WW2. In the 1940s, 23% of the adult population worked in these factories, and the US produced 300 to 400 million tons of Cheesecake per year. We used to build things.
As we all expected, KS SEN and SC SEN seeing more final week ad spending than GA SEN and NC SEN

I heard about this so much when I was in Iowa, definitely take a read:
Iowa suffers from the second-highest cancer rate in the US and is one of only three states where the rate is rising. The role of “Big Ag” has become a political lightning rod amid what is being described as a public health crisis.
For the first time, tackling the environmental causes of cancer has been included in Iowa campaign platforms for both parties. Republicans and Democrats up and down the ticket have staked out positions vowing to take on the issue.
And this year, nearly $30 million has been spent airing more than 100 campaign ads in Iowa that mention cancer, according to AdImpact data. In the last midterms in 2022, there was just one, backed by a little under $200,000.
