No surprise here, just how long it took Delta to make the call: Delta postpones launch of new Riyadh flights until at least March, via @David_Slotnick. thepointsguy.com/news/delta-…
Delta’s much-hyped inaugural flight to Riyadh is scheduled for Oct. 23 — two weeks from yesterday.
AP and Reuters, amongst others, reporting a strike on Riyadh Airport this afternoon. Last commercial aircraft to land was 14:05 Local time. The last departure was at 13:39 LT. Flights bound for RUH are diverting elsewhere, mainly to Jeddah at the moment. flightradar24.com/airport/ru…
I asked Delta about the Riyadh inaugural flight earlier. A spokesperson said that they “have not announced any changes to our previous announcement,” though you have to wonder what conversations they’re having behind closed doors this weekend.

The rubble at the scene of the World Trade Center collapse is filled with the sounds of “PASS devices,” or emergency signals attached to firefighters when they are no longer moving.
The scale of overlapping PASS alarms bespeaks the horrible death toll that must have taken place here.
Yet worse - the alarms can’t be stopped because the bodies haven’t been found.
I vividly remember the report of the car bomb outside the State Department. It's hard to describe today how little information we all had and how confusing everything was. No Tweets, no instant uploads, just incomplete reports and horror on the TV.

I have no memory of the attacks on 9/11. Most of Gen Z did not experience it.
This page is doing something really powerful by allowing us to experience how the country received information. Thank you to everyone sharing stories today.

After Republicans in Congress let enhanced federal subsidies for Affordable Care Act health plans expire in January, millions of Americans including many in Florida, had to decide whether to keep insurance that often doubled or tripled in cost — or risk going without it. Months later, with no action from lawmakers to replace the lost funds, they’re facing the consequences. Some are dealing with strained budgets and exorbitant medical bills, while others avoid the doctor in fear of the cost.
