No Nuclear Armageddon today. We’ll all just have to go back for several more years of dollar depreciation & decline until a major shock between 2030 & 2032. Sorry, folks.

Slow day at the office. Lunch at the Costco cafeteria. $1.50 hot dog & soda after last night’s quarter pounder. Now off to watch Amerigoblins spend money they don’t have.

Had a glorious American evening at the bar with friends, drinking Jack & Coke, and finished the evening off with an $8 Quarter Pounder meal. The Mrs. likes hers with only mustard & extra pickle.
Our $8 fresh beef, cooked-to-order quarter pounder meal is live across the US. No app needed. 🚨Hack: if you want a double, just add a patty to the $8 meal. If you want the best burger in QSR, delete the ketchup & mustard, add Big Mac sauce + lettuce to it. Report back!

The most important thing you can do for your kid is pick the right zip code. We rented in the best school district while broke. Had no furniture, mattresses on the floors in the bedroom. One kid graduated from top 25 college, another in one now. The zip code.
School quality is **inseparable** from housing “affordability” … for anyone with school age children Parents go to unbelievable lengths, accepting massive commute to try and give their kids a “good” education. There is no other public amenity that is a substitute.

Republicans freaking out about demographic & culture change: Uncle Ted wrote about this in his manifesto. Conservatives conserve nothing because their free market views are all about growing muh gdp, capitalism, etc. You can’t conserve any culture if you’re a capitalist.

For those who haven’t gone through this cycle 6 times in the past 30 yrs: Next 2 years, nothing happens except a couple gov’t shutdowns. Dems win in 2028, do crazy shit. Republicans win 2030. Nothingburger for 2 yrs but gov’t shutdowns. R’s win 2032, do crazy shit, repeat.

Um, yeah, pretty sure poll tests have been unconstitutional for 80 years, super smart autistic whore, so it would be hard to implement.
i know this would be hard to fairly implement but i think it would basically solve our economy if we could ban people from voting on economics issues until pass a test proving they understand incentives and supply and demand.

The fun part is none of the parties will address the fundamental structural issues leading to America’s decline so we’ll just have these repeated cycles of the past 25 years of one party gains control for 2 years, loses Congress, losses presidency, repeats.
10
When the base of the party consists of suburbanites & rural voters who drive 100 miles a day in trucks that get 20 mpg, $4/gal gas becomes an issue.
Rs appear to be well over their 2022 turnout, depending on the state. Many counties have normal looking margins. Hispanic vote appears to be around 2020 levels. There is a major suburban collapse that makes 2018 look like a cakewalk.

My politics is basically that of Lee Kwan Yew. I’ve seen Carter win, Reagan landslide, HW have 91% approval & lose, Clinton win & have the House & Senate, lose it two years later, W win, lose the House, Obama have a supermajority, lose it 2 years later, Trump win, Biden win…

Eating breakfast out is a waste of cash unless you’re at a diner for 1+ hour with friends & unlimited coffee refills. This meal could’ve been made at home for about $5.
Just hit the reset button at this point; 2 bacon egg and cheeses are $27.58 It’s over reset the economy; I don’t care this use to be $5-10 bucks all in back in the day I will never go out to breakfast again.

It’s important you drink. You socialize more, meet people you wouldn’t and network. Drinking is good for you, your life, and career.
Once you hit 30 you gotta put the alcohol down for good.

Coach purses, RVs, nails, Mercedes/BMW…
what is a totally normal purchase that middle-class people make that immediately signals to the wealthy that they are terrible with cash?

They don’t drink, they don’t smoke, they are physically & mentally active + genetics.
How is that boomers like buffett and trump on steady diet of Mcdonalds and cherry coke are outliving millenial and genz who are taking 150 supplements, clean protein and working out for hours.

I’m not hooking up with 12+ girls/yr anymore. Last 12 months it’s been 4- wife, 2 gfs & a chick I picked up at a work conference. Let’s just call it Minor Chad.

There are so many themes weaved through the Sopranos & this is certainly one of them. A great episode of contrasts is “Whitecaps”. Alan Sapinsly (AS) & Anthony Soprano (AS).
Replying to @PaulSkallas
On the surface the Sopranos is about the mafia, or about family drama. But really. It is documenting the last chapter of Italian thick culture before it gets subsumed into American thin culture. They are not Italians anymore. They are just Americans.

People say shits is declining cause they don’t remember 30 years ago paying $250/month for a long distance phone bill, driving some beat up hoopdie & having to pick the entertainment of the night being watching ER or going to a shit bar that smelled like piss to drink Bud Lights.
Yesterday, I had a drone deliver a package I ordered 4 hours earlier, drive in my base model car that would be considered a luxury automobile 20 years ago to have drinks made of the finest alcohol & a dinner better than any a president could have 25 years ago…
