A very good boy may have just earned his place in the church choir. During Mass at The Grotto’s annual Blessing of the Animals on Sept. 20, one husky couldn’t resist joining in when the music began. In a now-viral video filmed by attendee Blanca Gallardo, the pup lets out a series of enthusiastic howls as a priest sings — prompting the priest to walk over and hold a microphone near the furry vocalist. The moment has become an internet hit, with the Instagram Reel drawing 7.1 million views and 741,000 likes. The husky’s owner and identity were not initially known, though Gallardo said she attended the blessing with her own dog, Phoebe. The clip’s comments quickly turned the impromptu duet into a heavenly punchline. One viewer, @kindsi, wrote: “The priest sang, ‘all creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and let us sing’ and the husky said ‘HaleAWOOOOOyah!’” Honestly, the dog was just following directions. The Blessing of the Animals took place at 3:30 p.m. in The Grotto Plaza. The annual event welcomes people and pets of all faiths and celebrates the “joy, beauty, love, fidelity, encouragement and comfort” that animal companions bring into people’s lives. And if this dog had anything to say about it, that comfort apparently comes with a powerful set of lungs. Today, on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, it seems only right that one enthusiastic husky reminded everyone at Mass that all creatures are invited to lift up their voices, even if that voice is an awe-inspiring “awoooo.” Read more at Churchpop.com! ✍🏻 Claudette Jerez 📹: IG @divine_phoebe

I’m voting this as one of the best, feel good videos you’ll see on X today. This fawn is very young. They lose their spots when they are 3 to 4 months old! Curiously adorable ☺️

One year ago, a man was murdered in front of his wife and kids because too many have decided that political violence is a justifiable response to words or ideas we don’t like. Half the country mourned without any cities being burned and without riots. We had a chance and we let it go because we’ve decided that hucksters and the insane should dictate our response. The far right devolved to complete immersion in insane conspiracy theories. The far left decided to publicly celebrate murder. A year later, these people are the reality we chose. We barely talk about the core problem: the refusal of the mainstream right and left to turn off FOX and MSNBC, to turn off the crazies and proceed forward to make our country a better place for our young, crippled by an economic system that offers them a future of enslavement to debt and demagogues. Let’s decide to be better. Your political party doesn’t love you or care about your future. You are a means for them. Disassociate with these people and decide to be a person obsessed with truth and character, ever ready to ignore the crazies and dialogue with those who believe differently than you.

Theo Von just dropped an almost 2-hour conversation with Bishop Robert Barron. One of the biggest podcasters in the world giving a Catholic bishop nearly two hours to talk faith, God and Christianity to a massive young audience. Catholicism is entering the mainstream conversation again. ✝️

I know I’ve been posting a lot recently, but as Fr. Richard John Neuhaus used to say, “it’s a target-rich environment” right now. The governor of Massachusetts just signed into law a statute that permits abortion up until the moment of birth, as long as mother and doctor give the go-ahead. Please understand what this means. A fully-formed child, moments before exiting the birth canal, can be eviscerated, chopped into pieces, have its head crushed or skin burned off—all under the full protection of Massachusetts law. What I found particularly gross was the reaction of the entirely female crowd around the female governor of Massachusetts as she signed this barbaric provision into law. They were clapping and cackling with delight because what can only be called infanticide can now be practiced with impunity in their state. I’m old enough to remember when Mario Cuomo, the devoutly Catholic governor of New York, admitted that, though he found abortion personally repugnant, he was, after tortured wrestling with his conscience, willing to give it limited protection of law. How far we have fallen from agonized and conflicted Cuomo to the present governor of Massachusetts and her entourage gleefully applauding the murder of children.
