Here’s another example that Dr Zinner didn’t put on the table that undoubtedly shows again the Quran knows luke 1 and 2 extensively and applies qualities said of Jesus to John the Baptist to equalise them more to fix the Gospel authors later denigration to who was originally a fundamental part of the Jesus movements history. Here we see in Surah Maryam the quality of being obedient to his parents applied to John. While in Luke 2 we have only Jesus being described in such a way. This is a recurring pattern here in Surah Maryam as Zinner shows in the video.

How do you know these aren’t modalists? Or Subordinationist? Or that they merely believe the spirit is a power not a person? Or that they believe the Son and Spirit are co eternal?
Clear evidence of Trinitarian worship before 325AD. Yeah Inn Kathir is wrong, wrong, wrong...

This is a more protestant idea from experience, they just dunk on the disciples and the Prophets (not saying they believe they were sinless)
SNEAKO is left SHOCKED after Cliffe Knechtle called Prophets Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob “dirty rotten sinners” 😳💀 "Do Christians all believe that? I can't believe he just said that. He just said Abraham (AS) is a dirty rotten sinner."

“As an honour, favour, and exaltation from Allah, He placed him in that lofty and august station, so that he would be worthy to sit with Him upon His throne, to ADJUDICATE between creation in judgment on the Day of Truth.” (Ahkam al-Quran li-Ibn al-Arabi, al-Ilmiyah print, volume 3, page 576, NOT the Ibn Arabi who is Takfired by some) So in a sense the Prophet SAWS was described by classical scholars as “Judging” thus matching son of man expectations sitting on the Throne and judging in a sense of being a witness/intercessor on the Day of Judgement separating the people.

Why are most of these academics studying Islam in the West so lazy, not well read and dishonest

Here’s another reason why the Islamic Dilemma doesn’t even get off the ground. Even if all the sayings of Jesus were confirmed by the Quran as the “Injil” if we had the same hermeneutical freedom as Christians we could offer more plausible explanations for certain statements than them to reconcile the statements that appear to contradict with Islam. Think about how many times Christians failed to recognise Jesus has less knowledge (Mark 13:32) Jesus denying being the Good God of the Old Testament (Mark 10:18) as well as pointing to the Father as the Only True God (John 17:3). Just on this aspect alone of Jesus not being God these Christians still give these verses Tawil. If they were consistent and allowed us this sort of freedom to make tawil then yes 100% of the Gospel sayings can be reconciled. If they don’t want to grant us this then it’s now equally a dilemma for them because now they’ll have to acknowledge those verses they tawil about Jesus lack of divinity can’t also be reconciled as they are insufficient explanations. You can’t just demand from muslims very plausible contextual readings without tawil when you yourself are masters of the arts of tawil. It’s just that muslims have been too shy to go in there and tawil these sayings the way that you guys do. It’s improper to do so and is disengenous. Now to make it clear im not saying i believe in this position that the Sayings are all preserved. I believe taking such a position is highly implausible, you can’t reconcile jesus sayings comprehensively with islam in a plausible honest fashion. I just wanted to highlight why the Islamic dilemma can’t even follow to begin with if one is a Christian. It’s set up with an unfair argument a double standard i should say, where “hermenuatical freedom is for me and not for thee”

I can definitely argue it better than them both i came to the same conclusion many years ago that this is an avenue. Dr Zinner tried to say that somehow these jewish christians still believed they were from God despite believing they are false passages. Which was very unconvincing. This is my response to him here Btw Zinner believes the Quran knows the Torah and Gospel TEXTUALLY as well as the languages they were circulating in besides Arabic.

Honestly, I was very shocked by this. Shaddel was very clear and concrete about this, and he was going to write an article with Holger Zellentin about tahrif and the ps-clementine literature. But it seems he changed his mind and Zellentin will probably be writing it himself.

Zinner disagrees that the quran speaks about tahrif as well. I had a respectful dialogue with him that would be a lot more conducive than i think listening to these academics flip flopping their views
Following his PHD dissertation Mehdy Shaddel no longer believes the Quran alleges textual corruption and has changed his mind. "he(Mehdy Shaddel) has actually said he has changed his mind on this particular point" (tahrif in Q) and thinks it's to ambigous to come to any concluscions.
