In several states, it has already crossed 70%, approaching 80%. Yet, the BJP is pushing for further increases in reservations, potentially leaving General Category students fighting for a shrinking pool of unreserved seats.
LOOK AT THE NUMBERS:
🔴 𝗖𝗛𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗛: SC/ST/OBC students account for 79% of higher education enrolment. Yet, the BJP is arguing for an additional 8 percentage points in reservation, taking total reservation to 68%.
🔴 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗛𝗬𝗔 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗛 : SC/ST/OBC students account for 67.2% of enrolment. Yet, the BJP is arguing for an additional 13 percentage points, taking total reservation to 73%.
🔴 𝗕𝗜𝗛𝗔𝗥: SC/ST/OBC students account for 71.2% of enrolment. Yet, the BJP is arguing for an additional 15 percentage points, taking total reservation to 75%.
🔴 𝗥𝗔𝗝𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡: SC/ST/OBC students account for 73.1% of enrolment. Yet, the BJP is arguing for an additional 4 percentage points, taking total reservation to 64%.
🔴 𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗔: SC/ST/OBC students account for 59% of enrolment. The BJP government increased reservation by 30% in 2026. General Category students are already facing intense competition for medical, engineering and other sought-after degree courses.
And this is not merely about higher education. Government data also show SC/ST/OBC representation exceeding 70% in jobs.
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝘀 75% 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀.

When reserved seats expand, the pool of Open seats shrinks. Every additional percentage point matters to students competing for those seats, irrespective of their family's financial circumstances.
The most disturbing part?
Many General Category people continue to vote, give their time, money and effort for, campaign for and defend the BJP, Congress, SP and other parties as though party loyalty matters more than their children's future.

For General Category families, this should not be a question of BJP versus Congress, or SP versus any other party.
It is a question of YOUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE versus the policies of political parties.
A vote is temporary. The consequences for your children's education and career can last a lifetime.

दरभंगा में सर्वेश कुमार जी हार गए। भाजपा के थे। संजय सरावगी ने पूछा कि क्या चल रहा है, क्या अंडरएस्टिमेट किया भाजपा ने, क्यों पीछे चल रहे? उनका उत्तर था: यूजीसी अभी भी लोगों को याद है, बहुत क्रोध में हैं।

भाजपा की यही उपलब्धि है कि उसने सवर्णों को उधर ढकेल दिया, जहाँ हमने सोचा नहीं था। बाकी, चटुआ गिरोह जितना इजरायल चुनावों पर फोकस रखे, चाहे मोदी ट्रोल बन जाएँ, सत्य बिहार और यूपी सहित नागपुर के परिणाम में है।

मैं इन चुनावों में अधिक नहीं पढ़ता था, पर जब से ये चटुआ गिरोह के मूर्ख गुजरात के निकाय चुनावों में जीत को UGC पर रेफरेंडम बता रहे थे और झारखंड में हुई हार पर चुप होते थे, तब से इनको याद दिलाना आवश्यक है कि प्रबुद्ध युवा और शिक्षक अब अपने विकल्प देख रहा है। ये वो लोग हैं जो कक्षा में बच्चों को पढ़ाते हैं, कहीं ना कहीं नैरेटिव शेप करते हैं। यह भी रेफरेंडम नहीं है, पर संकेत अवश्य है एक क्षेत्र का।
100-200 वोट अधिकारी मैनेज कर भी देते हैं, यदि कोई नेता उन्हें माँ-बहन की गाली देता फिरे, पर 4000 या 27000 की बढ़त मैनेज नहीं होती, सरकार कोई भी हो। यूपी के जितने जानकार हैं, वो बताएँ कि इस बार प्रदेश भाजपा (मूलतः योगी) चुनावों से पूर्व कितना बल लगा रही थी?
विधान परिषद् चुनावों में यदि आपको CM की रैली और भाषणों की आवश्यकता पड़े, और आपका स्कोर 6-5 रहे, तब बैठ कर आत्ममंथन कीजिए। मोदी की बकलोली वाली पोस्ट और genZ इमोजी का उतना ही अंतर पड़ रहा है जितना डैश उखाड़ने से मुर्दे के भार पर पड़ता है।
सत्य को स्वीकारो और जगो। कोई नहीं चाहता अखिलेश आए, राहुल आए, पर तुम्हारा नीला प्रेम सब को अपने विकल्प और जाति को देखने को विवश कर रहा है। हर चुनाव, हर निर्णय ऐसा आता जा रहा है जैसे सवर्ण इस देश का हिस्सा केवल मोटा टैक्स भरने के लिए और मोदी की घटिया, दो कौड़ी की, जातिवादी, समाज विभाजनकारी नीतियों को फण्ड करने के लिए है।
सुधर जाओ, थोड़ा समय है अभी भी।

लोगों को पता ही नहीं कि देश में जनरल कैटेगरी (यानी सामान्य वर्ग) की संख्या लगभग 31% है!
OBC-क्रीमी लेयर भी 3-5% हैं, इनको जोड़कर कुल अनारक्षित वर्ग 35% हैं!

बिहार की भाजपा सरकार चाहती है आरक्षण 85% हो जाए और उसके बाद की बची सीटें भी जब तक आरक्षित वर्ग न ले ले, तब तक उसे उचित प्रतिनिधित्व न माना जाए। सरकार का स्वयं मानना है कि आरक्षित वर्ग सरकारी नौकरियों में 68.5% में होने के बाद भी प्रतिनिधित्व नहीं मिला है क्योंकि ओपन की केवल 18.5% सीट ही यह वर्ग वे पा रहा है, जबकि जनसंख्या 85% है।

These are submissions of Bihar BJP government in Supreme Court.
Earlier they used to say that reservation is required as SC,ST,OBC representation is less. But their own data is showing that almost 70% of the government jobs are with SC,ST,OBCs.
But still BJP says, so what? Reservation should be increased by another 15% to make SC, ST, OBC representation at 85%.

आरक्षण को जस्टिफाई करने के लिए जितनी भी रिपोर्ट्स बनाई गईं हैं, उनसब में मनमुताबिक रिजल्ट आये, इसके लिए डेटा manipulate किया जाता है!
पहले conclusion decide किया जाता है और उसके बाद sample, sample size, questions वगैरह तय किये जाते हैं!
औऱ ये सब खुलेआम हो रहा है!
साफ दिखता है कि पूरी रिपोर्ट में डेटा फ़र्ज़ी है, फिर भी कोई इसपर सवाल नहीं उठाता!
और ये फर्ज़ीवाड़ा दशकों से हो रहा है!
