I actually liked this thread even if the guy never replied and blocked me despite asking for an explanation. Neoreactionary thought applied to the Philippines, or: scratch a neoreactionary authoritarian and a libertarian public choice theorist bleeds
Replying to @njytolentino
👏It's👏not👏my👏job👏to👏educate👏you👏 Jk, I understand that our politicians and bureaucrats are retarded, but even if you replaced all of them with clones of Leni Robredo or whatever, we still wouldn't get nice public transpo or other nice things.

Virgin Philippine government: income tax, VAT, corporate tax, estate tax, capital gains tax, excise taxes, sin tax, license fees, permit fees, customs duties Chad North Korea:
Amazing chart from Adam Farrar of Bloomberg @economics. Assuming the Binance hack was done by the North Koreans, as alleged by @trmlabs, then the country just captured 75% of its total 2025 revenue in the span of just 20 minutes

What's the argument for not publicly hanging these "people," ideally in highly visible places like outside MRT stations or malls

It's even more important IRL. Follows that what's necessary is to raise the general IQ by any means necessary
Everything would be better if you had to pass an IQ test to use the internet. You must be 115 IQ to ride. This would rule out ~84% of the "human" population right off the bat. We could have the old Internet back.

Fined for providing too much employment and more reliable services PH business is over-regulated; it is a major hurdle to progress Despite a consensus that gov is corrupt, people still support having gov’s hands in everything
MOVE IT FINED P555.75 MILLION FOR EXCEEDING AUTHORIZED RIDER COUNT READ: The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has fined motorcycle taxi platform Move It P555.75 million for operating with more riders than its authorized limit. Move It was authorized to have only 17,746 riders across Cagayan de Oro, Metro Manila, and Cebu City but had 55,575 unauthorized rider-partners. The board imposed a fine of P10,000 for each unauthorized rider-partner. However, the LTFRB said in a press release that the penalty is not yet final, as Move It has filed a motion for reconsideration. | @ChelsyPerezINQ

Our country badly needs a benevolent, developmentalist dictator right now, more than ever. Democracy only works for high-trust, developed countries.
Ninoy Aquino knew what needed to be done, which is why modern attempts to portray him as a martyr for liberal democracy are laughable (Duterte, Defense, and Democracy, William Overholt) brookings.edu/articles/duter…

For those who haven't encountered this, this means "The Purpose of a System is What It Does." A system's stated goals should be discounted, it's results that matter. Our system was allegedly set up to protect the common good, fight corruption, deliver justice. Does it?
At the end of the day one has to apply the POSIWID principle to the post EDSA system. It has failed to develop the country - politically, economically, or socially. Maybe he only delayed a reckoning that we’d have been better off having.

"We need all of these checks and balances, processes, regulations, permits, and signatures to prevent corruption" - do they prevent corruption now? Or is their real purpose to bog down people who try to follow the rules while benefiting those with connections and grease money?

To a lot of leftoids, “wealth” is this completely abstract, liquid form of prosperity in a bottle. No, Taiwan isn’t successful because the KMT took the ROC gold reserves, Taiwan is successful because the KMT built productive capacity and industry. 5bn in factories>5bn in gold.

This guy consistently has takes that I can tell comes from someone who actually knows what he's talking about, but gets little engagement. Idk why, Elon needs to fix the algorithm again
Also if you know the turmoil the Central Military Commission & the PLA is in right now, you'd know that there's no "war" to be fought between anybody in the near future, so this all seems rather silly

Absolutely dishonest engagement bait that'll unfortunately work on a lot of the livestock known as Pinoy netizens If you sell an asset at a certain price and the price goes up even more, it doesn't mean you sold it at a loss. It's only a loss if sell price < buy price. Retard
BANGKO SENTRAL SOLD OUR GOLD RESERVES AT A LOSS! You would think the members of the Monetary Board, who manage our Bangko Sentral, are geniuses, wise men averaging 70 years old. But they just sold a pile of our gold reserves at a loss. Big, big loss. In 2024, they sold 25 tons of gold when prices were ranging from $2,000 to $2,400 per ounce. In 2025, they again sold 25 tons of gold when prices were ranging from 2,338 to $2,427 per ounce. Supposedly to prop up the peso. How much is gold trading now? $3,884.90. It in fact peaked at $5,500 this year. We lost by half. And yet, they're paid from P30 Million to P50 Million a year for their supposed wisdom and expertise. They still failed to prop up the peso. It keeps falling against the dollar. So, essentially, all that gold vanished into thin air. Will the Ombudsman look into this and if warranted, fire them all for gross inexcusable negligence. They're not impeachable officials. And better check how much gold is still left in our vault. And keep it away from these old men.

He had no urgency when dealing with the problems of infrastructure, protected nincompoops like Jun Abaya, and was as tone deaf as the current administration on taxes. He absolutely refused to reindex income tax rates and kept so many middle class payers at high rates, something not rectified until the early Duterte years. He was the beneficiary of a very benign international climate and not enough people recognize that.

I 100% support this new "I hate small businesses and they're the backbone of fascism" position for the Pinoy the left, they should start putting this on their signs, flyers, and pubmats
Oo. Have u seen the conditions ng mga nagmamasa at panadero? Silang mga below minimum wage ang sahod? Goglorify mo yang mga small business? Kumikita yan on the backs of agricultural and industrial worker’s appropriated labor power. Mula sakahan, pabrika ng harina, at gahon.

Libs and leftists have all kinds of silly psychosocial explanations ("they just want a messiah!" "Pinoy fatalism!") for why Filipinos yearn for the oldest, most common, and instinctively understandable form of government instead of liberal democracy. But this is really why

PNoy was okay but Duterte’s win didn’t come from nowhere. You can’t blame it all on disinformation/troll farms. PNoy did nothing, the right approach in boom times, which is why the economy was good. Yet that also looked like indifference, especially on street issues like crime
