Assuming anyone can even afford the hardware to run any Ai lol. That’s a big assumption with how your Ai craze is destroying any semblance of tech affordability.
The anti-AI crowd is digging its own grave. AI is inevitable. You can refuse to use it today, but eventually you won’t have much of a choice. And when that day comes, you’ll be starting from zero while everyone who embraced it years ago already knows how to use it to their advantage. The gap between people who use AI and people who don’t is already enormous. And it’s only going to get bigger. The longer you resist, the further behind you fall. You’re not stopping AI. You’re just making sure you’re the last person to benefit from it.

Fined for providing too much employment and more reliable services PH business is over-regulated; it is a major hurdle to progress Despite a consensus that gov is corrupt, people still support having gov’s hands in everything
MOVE IT FINED P555.75 MILLION FOR EXCEEDING AUTHORIZED RIDER COUNT READ: The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has fined motorcycle taxi platform Move It P555.75 million for operating with more riders than its authorized limit. Move It was authorized to have only 17,746 riders across Cagayan de Oro, Metro Manila, and Cebu City but had 55,575 unauthorized rider-partners. The board imposed a fine of P10,000 for each unauthorized rider-partner. However, the LTFRB said in a press release that the penalty is not yet final, as Move It has filed a motion for reconsideration. | @ChelsyPerezINQ

Every criminal group on Earth acts with the complete acknowledgment and approval by its government.
Bukele is right. Armed groups are no match for the power of the state. Even a small nation like El Salvador can wield state resources to easily CRUSH criminal groups. The conclusion is Mexico's govt has made accommodations with the narcos. They are in a power-sharing partnership

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Or be enough of a brokie that you can't afford the newest tech
you can actually prevent yourself from becoming victim to most of the pitfalls of modernity by simply treating all new technology with a healthy distrust

Refrigerators and freezers but they aren’t connected to the internet.
BREAKING: This morning’s cyberattack against supermarket fridges and freezers has now spread to Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg and Estonia. The hackers increased the temperature up to 50C. Food worth millions of euros has been spoiled. Experts warn that such cyberattacks on supply chains and logistics can constitute a threat to national food security in many Western states.

They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could network their freezers and connect them all to Internet that they didn’t stop to think if they should
JUST IN: Ireland is also facing a cyberattack targeting supermarket refrigeration systems. Refrigeration systems at 13 SuperValu stores have been affected, forcing fresh, chilled and frozen products to be removed from sale and discarded. Musgrave, which owns SuperValu, confirmed the incident was limited to a specific model of refrigeration equipment. Monitoring systems detected the issue, prompting an immediate response. Several stores, including SuperValu in Bray, County Wicklow, were delayed in opening this morning. The company is working with cybersecurity specialists to restore normal operations. Ireland now joins Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg and Estonia in reporting cyberattacks targeting supermarket refrigeration systems this morning.

He had no urgency when dealing with the problems of infrastructure, protected nincompoops like Jun Abaya, and was as tone deaf as the current administration on taxes. He absolutely refused to reindex income tax rates and kept so many middle class payers at high rates, something not rectified until the early Duterte years. He was the beneficiary of a very benign international climate and not enough people recognize that.
In terms of economy? PNoy is the best President! Fight me!

A civilization in which the poor live more comfortably but have almost no realistic prospect of becoming powerful, independent or exceptionally successful through their own merits is not a superior civilization - it is the death of meritocracy in service of mediocrity under the banner of efficiency. Why would anyone bother trying to become the best at anything? There is no point. A machine can do it better so it's not economically viable to do anything other than own the compute that powers that machine, meaning even if you're really good at it, it won't do anything for you - class positions becomes entrenched, with no amount of effort or talent being enough to transcend them if you're on the wrong side of that line, because the market will stop rewarding your talents. Millions upon millions of people who define themselves by their jobs will be left purposeless. Most of humanity will be a serf class collecting welfare with no incentive to be brilliant or excellent or bother with anything, and will drive themselves mad descending into infinite leisure. I want to be wrong about this. But I don't think I am. After all the condescension of the flawed analogy between the car replacing the horse, and then the cope about adapting by keeping a human in the loop and augmenting your workflow, only to end up at "so yeah you were right actually you will be made obsolete" is just fucking wild.
Super Intelligence WILL EAT MANY ENTIRE businesses, industries and professions in the next few *months* and *quarters*. The rest will follow. The physical world will take a bit longer. That needs A LOT of humanoid robots. Strap yourselves in.

And these people tell us it is "quite terrible" that YOU have RAM in your computer. Elon: around 1.2M Blackwells at Colossus 2 by end of year. Same week, a clip of Sam Altman: DRAM in your computer is "being used five percent of the time", you want it in the cloud. These tech oligarchs have fucking lost it. Most of those chips are GB300 with 288 GB of HBM each. That is over 300 million GB at 1 site. My rig has 96 GB of VRAM. Colossus 2 holds the memory of over 3 million rigs like mine. OpenAI signed letters of intent for up to 900,000 DRAM wafers a month, close to 40% of 2025 output. Micron closed Crucial, its consumer brand, to serve bigger customers. Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Meta plan over $700B of capex this year. And the problem is the RAM in MY computer? Sam's 5% is even about right. I checked. My 4x 3090 averaged 4.4% GPU load over the last 24 hours. I do not care. I paid for them. My prompts stay on my machine, and nobody can change my limits or take my model away. The 3090 came out in 2020. Why the fuck do you even need it? My rig has 256 GB of RAM now. Keep your cloud, Sam. I am keeping my computer.
