Joel Dahmen is gaming a new Hanna Golf Co. Denver putter this week.
Spoke with company founder @DoerflerJared this morning who said it's the first time the small boutique milled putter company out of Iowa has had their putter in play on the PGA Tour.
Doerfler said Dahmen has been a longtime supporter of the brand, even buying one of their first models at launch. Dahmen shot 60 with a Hanna Golf putter at home, but had never put one in play on Tour until this week.
They've been in contact since, but a few weeks ago, Dahmen and his agent reached out and asked the company to make him a putter for an upcoming head-to-head test to find a flatstick for this week.
Doerfler and Co put in 17 hours milling a putter for Dahmen based on the Denver shape with some modifications.
They got the call earlier this week that Dahmen was going to game it.
Doerfler quit his job and founded the company three years ago with just single CNC machine in his garage and no knowledge of how to use it.
Now the company has crafted a custom putter for the PGA Tour.

3 former college golf teammates.
All working together at a small private manufacturing company in Iowa. All arriving at different times.
One turned into the CEO.
And then @DoerflerJared left to start a putter company out of his garage.
That was the spark I needed to figure out something on my own.
Jared taking the leap inspired me to try something.
Still remember the day when I sent him the text “I have an idea…toddler golf bags”
He didn’t laugh. He said “go for it.”
Some of my closest friends had a huge impact on my entrepreneurial journey.

You can just do things.
I'm building an American putter company.
Instead of finding a manufacturer in America, we took it a step further. I bought equipment to make putters myself.
I had to teach myself anything and everything I could about CNC Mills.
More up-front cost? Yes.
Harder to scale? Yes.
Learn a new skill? Yes.
We've been at it for 20 months and built a small 2,000-square-foot putter factory in Iowa.
Started from scratch. With nothing but a dream and a terrible business plan on a Google Doc.
Was there an easier path? Possibly. But trying to achieve the American Dream is supposed to be hard.
Do hard things. Chase the American Dream. Build in America.
