There is a terrible act of injustice happening in our country right now impacting US veterans and their family members, and it’s something I’ve been reporting on for a while.
For several decades, victims of the Camp LeJeune water contamination crisis have been denied the compensation they deserve, despite suffering from cancers, neurological disorders, and other devastating illnesses caused by toxic exposure.
From 1953 to 1987, over a million veterans, their families, and civilians were exposed to highly toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like TCE, PCE, vinyl chloride, and benzene in the base’s groundwater, with contamination levels far exceeding safe limits. Despite clear evidence of harm, federal officials concealed the issue, delaying action until 1987 and leaving victims without recourse for years.
The Camp LeJeune compensation crisis stands as one of the most egregious examples of government failure to address toxic exposure and deliver justice to military families.
I have obtained documentation of 5 offers of judgment from the Department of Justice to people who served or worked at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base who later developed terrible diseases like cancer or Parkinson’s.
And they’re far from the only ones. Thousands of people who lived or served on that base later got seriously sick, and most of those diseases have been tied back to the poisoned water at Camp LeJeune, which the US government knew about but covered up for YEARS.
The five people listed in this thread are just a handful of victims who have gone public with the shameless “offers of judgment” the US government has recently offered them.
Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward @ASGWoodward at the DOJ signed off on these disgraceful offers after being put in charge of the Camp LeJeune settlements earlier this year.
The Trump administration has a critical opportunity to deliver justice to the veterans and families harmed by the Camp LeJeune crisis.
Many of these victims have already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on treatment and care as a result of their illnesses from their time at Camp LeJeune. The offers they’ve received do not make them financially whole, and they also don't account for the years stolen from the victims, or from their families, who have had to watch them suffer.

Christian nationalism has crept into pulpits and it is poisoning the gospel. Pastors stand behind the pulpits with a Bible in one hand and a flag in the other, confusing the kingdom of Christ with the kingdoms of men. But the church was never called to drape the cross in national colours. The cross is not bound to any soil. On it the Lamb purchased men "from every tribe and tongue and people and nation" (Revelation 5:9), and from His throne He rules over every one of them.
The gospel does not need any country. God is not waiting for a nation to uphold His kingdom. Jesus said, "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!" (Luke 19:40). He once made a donkey speak (Numbers 22:28). He fed a prophet by ravens (1 Kings 17:4-6). He raised up deliverance for Israel through Cyrus, a pagan king who did not even know Him (Isaiah 45:1-4). Do not think God is bound to political powers or national identities to accomplish His will.
Let me be clear about what I am NOT saying. Praying for kings and all who are in authority is commanded (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Honouring the government God has placed over you is commanded (Romans 13:1). Seeking the good of the city you live in is commanded (Jeremiah 29:7). Loving your country is not the sin. The sin is when the country becomes the message.
Because when nationalism enters the pulpit, Christ is pushed aside. The message becomes about saving a nation rather than saving sinners. The mission becomes preserving a culture rather than preaching a crucified and risen Saviour. THAT IS IDOLATRY DRESSED UP IN RELIGIOUS CLOTHING.
Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36). Paul wrote, "our citizenship is in heaven" (Philippians 3:20). To replace these truths with political identity is to betray the gospel. What I see is pulpits more concerned with elections than with eternity, more loyal to parties than to Christ. And when the church sells its birthright for influence and applause like Esau sold his for a bowl of stew (Hebrews 12:16), it ceases to be the church.
The gospel does not need nationalism. The gospel does not need any country. The gospel does not need anything from man. It "is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16). And any pulpit that trades that power for politics is no longer a pulpit of Christ but a platform of man.

LA Homeless Services Authority busted laundering over $75M in fraud through the homeless industrial Complex. This matches the amount of money they get from Federal taxpayers. Has God opened our eyes to who He is and brought our hearts under His Word? Others may call us Reformed or Calvinist, but our concern must be whether God has made us biblical Christians. We can learn correct theology from good books. It is God who opens the heart to see His glory in Christ and brings us to know the One those books describe (2 Corinthians 4:6).
When we begin to see His holiness, our excuses lose their strength. Isaiah’s encounter with the Lord brought him to confess his own uncleanness (Isaiah 6:1–5). The Holy Spirit teaches us that same honesty through Scripture. We begin to grieve over sins we once defended and acknowledge how completely we depend on mercy. God’s greatness teaches us our proper place before Him.
And His grace gives us reason to be deeply thankful. The God before whom we stand guilty has provided salvation through His Son. We are saved by grace through faith, without anything in ourselves that could make His mercy something He owed us (Ephesians 2:8–9). That truth becomes personal when we stop treating salvation as something we deserved and begin to wonder that God has been merciful to us at all.
Knowing Him also gives us confidence to submit to His will. Paul grounds our assurance in God’s gift of His Son, who died, rose, and now intercedes for His people (Romans 8:31–39). We can entrust ourselves to such a Saviour. We learn to obey when obedience costs us, and to trust His wisdom when His purposes are beyond our understanding. The God who humbles us is also the God in whose love we rest.
There is joy in coming to know Him this way. Paul’s teaching on sovereign mercy leads him into worship (Romans 11:33–36), and these truths should teach us to worship too. We become grateful to belong to Christ and willing to place our lives at His disposal. Whatever others call our convictions, this is what we must seek: a knowledge of God that brings us to repentance, teaches us to trust Him, and makes Him increasingly precious to us.
