Dorking STW according to Thames Water EDM discharge monitoring has not discharged since 19th July. All other main STWs on river mole have discharged since then. Storm tanks appeared full recently. @thameswater pls check your overflow monitoring sensors at this site. @SirGeogy
UK wholesale gas price has settled at 60% higher than 2018. So,when low/zero carbon generation is low, the wholesale electricity price shoots up (see graphs), following gas. So all this talk of more fossil fuels being the answer for UK - is complete nonsense.
Why after weeks of dry weather are at least 9 works still discharging raw sewage into rivers? @thameswater as shown on TW’s own website.

Thames Water has £2.2b revenue. But with £17.9b debt at say 5% interest rate will be paying £0.9b interest pa. ie. 40% of customer bill income spent on servicing debt. Little left for asset investment and capital maintained. Completely unsustainable & unviable business model

Standing charge 20.3p-55.8p, 175% increase.
Day rate 16.2p-26.7p, 64% increase.
Night rate 7.8p-8.5p, 9% increase
Wholesale electricity: 4.2p-6.5p, 54% increase.
STANDING CHARGE +175% !

The last day of coal powered electricity in UK. Purple= coal, green= wind, orange= gas, yellow= solar, light blue= nuclear, dark blue= biomass. Electricity today is only 18% fossil fuel. Great progress. But home heating & transport is the big challenge.
