Anthony - you ran a strong race in 2023 and changed the conversations we had about the future of Toronto. I know how much heart you put into it. Whatever you choose to do next, you have my full support. I will always have your back and I am proud to stand with you.
I’ve been asked if I plan to run for Mayor of Toronto in this year’s election, as I had previously said I was considering it.
My advisors tell me that my latest polling numbers are actually pretty good for a busy hockey dad who’s been keeping a low profile this year.
That said, I don’t feel the time is right for me and I’m going to sit this one out.
It was an amazing experience running in the last mayoral race and advocating for common sense policies to improve Toronto for the benefit of all. I’m grateful to all the people who have supported me.
Toronto is facing a number of challenges but it remains an amazing city full of wonderful people — a city worth fighting for.
While I won’t be running this time, I look forward to contributing in other ways by supporting important causes in the community. I’m sure I’ll be back in the political arena one of these days.

and Foreign Affairs Minister @AnitaAnandMP offered only empty words. Too little, too late. More than 700 IRGC terrorists are operating in Canada, posing a direct threat to Canadians. We don’t want empty statements. Shut down all the Islamic centres that whitewash the crimes of the regime. Kick the IRGC terrorists out of Canada. Ban first-degree family members of the regime from entering or remaining in the country. These actions would benefit Canadians and would be the strongest solidarity with the people of Iran. 🇨🇦🦁🌞🫡
