Excited to share our new preprint! ChromE-seq reads 3D chromatin and gene expression in one cell. Across ~400,000 human primary cells, B lineage has the fewest chromatin loops and is most perturbed in trisomy 21, driving the B-cell block in Down syndrome.

I remember Dan from my days as a postbac at the NIAMS. Such a wonderful person and scientist. So incredibly sad to hear of his passing. A tremendous loss for the immunology community. cell.com/immunity/fulltext/S…

🧬 Happy to share our new study in @BloodAdvances! Many inherited cancer predisposition genes only cause disease once a second mutation arrives. We tested that directly, combining CRISPR editing of human primary blood stem cells with xenotransplantation.🧵doi.org/10.1182/bloodadvance…

A new study from MSK and collaborators (@jonasschluter and @DrMvandenBrink) suggests that consuming high levels of sugar while taking antibiotics may worsen gastrointestinal side effects in patients receiving bone marrow transplants.
The study, co-led by Dr. Jonathan “Tsoni” Peled (@tsonipeled) and published in @Nature, tracked the diets and gut microbiomes of 173 hospitalized transplant patients. The data showed that high-sugar foods and antibiotics appeared to compound damage to the microbiome.
