Wait- you were doing so well with the ‘trapped in your houses’ narrative- don’t spoil it now by being able to easily travel to the place you claim is the issue. Consistency people!
Fantastic turnout today, over 100 older people demanding to be heard! Why aren’t our councillors listening? Where are they? Wonderful support from passers by, including many cyclists. They understand that older people need to be considered!!
The gifts from Southwark just keep coming today! seems their new “Low Traffic Southwark” member is focussed on jam! Focus on the jam love and get the roads reopened, I’ve got some driving to do!

This is more like it- hopefully Southwark have given up on all that LTN nonsense - let’s just bung a few benches in instead and call it climate action!

Yes friend! It’s other people’s cars that cause pollution and congestion, not ours! Can’t imagine how we are supposed to get from Dulwich to Peckham otherwise!
1
Yes comrades, you show them! If roads are closed and drivers carry out illegal manoeuvres then opening all roads up so we can drive where we like is obviously sensible! In fact all one way streets should be reinstated as 2 way, this is our right!
1
At last @RealOneDulwich you’re coming good on our hopes of pushing for the needs of drivers above all else. Had us worried with all the comments re concern about pollution and cyclists, thankfully it’s all a ruse! Phew! @DulwichSociety @helenhayes_

Important announcement klaxon! Being kettled’ is so last school year, being ‘hemmed in’ is all the rage now! Please adjust your hyperbolic language accordingly! @margynewens @RM_Leeming @DulwichSociety @RealOneDulwich

That’s right cyclists- roads are for cars, not people messing around on bikes. Don’t close roads and make me angry - that’s just asking for trouble! #blamelessdriverculture #bikesareahobby #realmendrivecars @mcash @southwarkcycle

Wait- what... I thought that closing streets to traffic increased danger because none of my brethren of vehicle based avengers could step in- seems that actually they just sit in their cars and watch crime happen 😢#carsdontactiallystopcrime #fauxconcern #itsnotmeimconcernedfor

How do you select where to have a massage or beauty treatment? Reputation, word of mouth, seen an ad on social media? Not us! We just drive around and pull in for an emergency facial - stopping through traffic will be catastrophic for the drive through beauty trade!

Facebook posts getting to the crux of the issue. These road closures don’t work for anyone who has a daily journey with a baby, a fridge and who is disabled and on their way to care for someone!

Ah Dulwich, resisting change since 1878!
Nimbyism is nothing new. This cutting from 1878 shows residents unhappy at Dulwich Estate plans to build on Croxted Lane which would 'spoil its rural character' (aka their view). #LocalHistory

One of the things no one really considers in LTNs is ‘how will people get to sports clubs if they can’t drive there’. Bet the council didn’t think about that!

Got to admit we were a bit sceptical about you given your website claims- however it’s good to see that when it comes to making your own parking a bit more difficult you’ll campaign against a CPZ with the best of ‘em! Phew! #greenwash #sodlocalresidentsprobablynotcustomers
It will all be affected... those of us running businesses will be parking more densely in the non CPZ areas and it will only be a matter of time until it is extended. And we lose the most valuable roads for us. Unless of course we want to spend an extra £600.

Glad you’re happy pootling about on your bike for fun, whereas those of us making only essential journeys are having our human right to drive the shortest distance between two points totally denied. Regrettable!
segregated bike lanes popping up everywhere ! More to be done but great to see : looking forward to getting electric bike : ordered yesterday : 65 y/o and starting cycling @MumsForLungs @SustransLondon @DulwichDrivers @DulwichSociety @LDN_LS @margynewens @helen_pic

We agree. Bikes are expensive toys! If you want to do the Tour de France then that’s fine, but as a mode of transport, cycling just isn’t inclusive as bikes are so expensive - unlike cars which are just so accessible to all!!

You’re a local business owner on a newly created square - your goods are easily transportable on foot or by bike, do you: 1) attack the scheme potentially alienating customers in favour or 2) consider how you can maximise potential increased trading space and new opportunities

Ah- another day, another of our breatheren standing up for local drivers’ rights. It’s only fair that the local police should be called to ‘nearly accidents’ that didn’t happen!
1
We can’t possibly support such ridiculous schemes - they add whole MINUTES!! to a once weekly shop.
2
We also agree with these aims. We want everyone else to stop driving on our roads, without having to stop driving ourselves. Can we suggest a committee to determine if drivers are ‘Dulwich enough’ before handing out access permits? @OneDulwich
