I'm biased given I have lived in Alaska for nearly four years now, but it really irks me when all these media outlets misquote NOAA citing July 2026 as the warmest month on record for the CONUS as the warmest for the U.S, period. Alaska, a huge landmass, had a below average July!
I was always into geoscience including weather, but it was that night just after midnight that I decided I wanted to pursue meteorology as a profession. 13 years...
I've been using paint.NET as my primary image editor since I was like 16 and started using it to edit satellite images. Then it just became my standard go-to image editor. Very nice to see them finally get the domain (and not have to fix the blue link here either)!

Just went above freezing at PAFA for the first time since Halloween as of 5:10 PM! Kind of disappointing to only tie instead of break the record for latest ever first thaw given the winter we've been through (just needed one more day!), but too bad, I guess.
