Russia can barely fulfill its own domestic requirements, let alone engage in diesel exports. Russia banned product exports through the end of October. Official statements indicate that 30% of Russian 5.5 million barrels per day capacity is impaired. Other sources indicate that it is more like 50%. Whether Russia can even export diesel is another matter. @EPRINC_DC
What an absolute mess, @NateSibley. When Trump instructed @SecScottBessent to greenlight Russian diesel imports without the authority to do so, he put @USTreasury and @CBP in an impossible legal bind. An @OFAC license cannot override a federal statute, because Congress took that power away from Treasury in this case. PL 117-109 enacted a blanket statutory ban on all Russian HTS Chapter 27 energy imports (including diesel) with zero administrative waiver authority. And you're spot on about CAATSA. Even if Treasury claims it can (somehow) license around it, any move significantly altering Russia policy requires a mandatory 30-day notice to Congress and a statutory freeze before taking effect. The end result? If a Russian tanker soon arrives at a U.S. port, CBP is legally barred from clearing the cargo.

People aren't mad enough about this. @EntergyArk took a (large) cost that Google was happy to pay and socialized it to other ratepayers anyway What does the Ratepayer Protection Pledge mean when a utility can sign it one month and violate it the next? entergy.com/news/entergy-is-…
Google offered to pay for the data center infrastructure upgrades outright. The utility said no, because that wouldn't go into their rate base. They restructured it as a prepayment instead so they could rate base it anyway.⁣ ⁣ Result: everyone's bill went up $5.77 a month.

On March 11, 2026, the @IEA announced the release of 400 million barrels (MBs) of strategic crude oil inventories held by 32 @OECD countries for a period of 120 days, implying a rate of 3 MB/d. The @Energy has committed to 172 MBs of this total. At the onset of the crisis at the end of February, the U.S. held a total of 855 MBs of crude oil in storage (of which 440 MBs were commercial and 415 MBs were in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve - SPR). As of June 5, 2026, commercial inventories have declined by 14 MBs to 426 while the SPR stood at 350 MBs, down 65 MBs based on data pulished by @EIAgov on June 10, 2026. While this has muted price spikes and shortages, the @IEA, trading companies, and analysts are warning of adverse conditions within the next few months if restoration of #Hormuz commodity flows aren't restarted soon. #EnergyTwitter #OOTT #ONGT #EnergyTransition 🛢️#Oil #Supply 🛢️💧#SPR|Strategic Petroleum Reserve 🌀 /🚢🌐 #Hormuz
