Lyle Lovett is a great musician, a great Aggie, and now a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame!
A Texas A&M Distinguished Alumnus, Lovett started his career in Aggieland and recently returned as a Hagler Fellow to work with students in the Texas A&M College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts.
I could not be prouder to call Lyle Lovett one of our own!

Priscilla finished setting up our Ofrenda for Día de Los Muertos. The hardest part of getting older is slowly seeing more photos of lost loved ones get added every year. This year we lost a cousin and an aunt.
Going through the practice of setting up their photos and favorite foods/items is what we enjoy. It’s mourning through memory. We get to tell our kiddos the stories about them. Even our first dog Carl is there with some of his favorite snacks.
If you’re missing someone today, make a point to say their name today. Spend some time remembering them and how much they meant to you.
Not over until it’s over. Post election, dozers start again in Big Bend unless the Supreme Court does it job to stop earth movers from dragging new roads, blasting holes for bollards and building barriers where negligible crossings occur in Texas’ Big Bend Region. State & National Park lands are in Texas who joined the US as a country w a heritage worth protecting.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin R. Shanken, founder of M. Shanken Communications and a visionary whose influence on the worlds of wine, cigars and publishing was immeasurable.

The World Bank reported that the U.S. achieved the largest absolute reduction in flaring of any country in 2025, even as American oil production reached record highs and led the world.
At the @txrrc, we've delivered results. The last thing Texas energy needs is unnecessary regulatory overreach that threatens production to appease a climate agenda.
Aggies are 1-4 in SEC play and gave up over 300 yards in passing against Alabama. Ags need two wins for bowl eligibility. The final stretch for A&M includes South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas (at Kyle Field). Improving fourth-quarter execution is essential.
Of course there’s that friendly 🍷 wager w @jaybsauceda - doubled down no less after the ‘25 loss👍🏼. All these remaining games are tough teams, buckle up - Break the streak!

Great cause, and some art, golf, fly fishing, B&B’s in Lajitas and Alpine are a steal.

Some have asked about this:
Susan and I wanted our gift to give 25 million children a stronger start and to reach communities where it could make the greatest difference.
We began with all eligible children born between 2016 and 2024 who signed up before auto-enrollment and lived in ZIP codes with median family income of $150,000 or less. We wanted families who took that first step to know they could count on our commitment.
Next were military children living overseas who also signed up before auto-enrollment. They represented a very small share of our $6.25 billion gift, but we didn’t want to leave them out because their military addresses didn’t fit the usual ZIP-code income framework. Their parents are serving our country abroad, and we want these children included in the future we are investing in.
When all American children were auto-enrolled at the beginning of this month, we immediately began funding the accounts of all children born 2016 to 2024 in eligible ZIP codes, beginning in ZIP codes with lowest median family income and moving progressively to higher median family income, up to 25 million accounts in total.
We chose this approach with care and a simple hope: that these investments will open doors and help millions of children build the futures they dream of.

Great article written by @Jennifer_Hiller a few years ago- makes good points.
Every boom has a bust in oil & gas, yet water becomes more valuable.
Data also increases in value, and using it to predict maintenance, capital and water are key.

A new court ruling re: whether we ruin our Nat’l and State Parks, they’re not a launchpad for infrastructure that ruins their intent.
You own them, not elected or appointed officials. Reuters article at the link, my footage of BBRSP.
