We become MPs at the same time. I had to declare my final wage from the job I held BEFORE becoming an MP because it was within 12 months of the election. In what universe would one MP need to declare that and another not have to declare this?
Has Nigel Farage broken parliamentary rules by failing to declare benefits provided by an ally who’s a convicted criminal? He says he hasn’t.  However, the Sunday Times reports that George Cottrell supplied security & social media staff who worked on Mr Farage's online content in the year before he was elected. It also claims the Reform leader used a property rented by Cottrell near Buckingham Palace. Mr Farage is already facing a parliamentary investigation over that £5m from a crypto billionaire based in Thailand, which wasn’t  registered. He says that was for personal security & was a personal gift/non-political His team have made a similar argument for why the "in kind" - non-cash - benefits allegedly from George Cottrell weren’t registered Under parliamentary rules, new MPs must declare financial interests and "registrable benefits" received in the 12 months before their election. The guidelines say purely personal gifts or benefits don’t need to be registered When he became an MP, Mr Farage DID register a £9,253 trip to Belgium in April 2024 donated by Cottrell, and later added a £15,276 donation from Cottrell for a US domestic flight in Dec 2024 A spokesman for Mr Farage said: ‘It comes as no surprise that the Sunday Times has chosen to publish this baseless & contrived story, covering a period of time when Nigel Farage was not even an active politician let alone an elected one, given that the newspaper backed the Labour Party at the last general election…..Contrary to the story's tone, no parliamentary rules have been broken.’

My heart is with the people of Ukraine. For the past few years, we've dedicated this moment during The Rhythm of My Heart to the strength, courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people. Every night, the crowd joins together in support. In light of the recent horrific attacks on Kyiv, I hope this small tribute reminds you that people all over the world continue to stand with you.

"A lad 30 years younger than me calls me daddy and lets me sleep in his home" is kinda personal, I agree- and I am all for diversity. But when the house is an £8m "gift" from a billionaire and gifts/donations to MP were given by a convicted felon with ongoing suspicious business?
Where are we this morning? George Cottrell’s lawyers acknowledged he paid for Nigel Farage’s staff and security. He did so via electronic transfer from bank accounts in his name. On the townhouse, they said their client “does, and did” let Farage stay there. Farage has sought to dismiss both. On failing to declare funding for operation, he said he didn’t need to: he wasn’t a politician at the time. On failing to declare use of house, he said he didn’t need to: Cottrell is a friend, so it is exempt. Sources close to him are also downplaying this dimension generally, saying stays extremely infrequent. The parliamentary rules say any benefit exceeding £300 in value that is not “purely personal” — ie romantic partner or family — and is in any way related to an MP’s “political activities” must be declared. This includes the 12 months before a new MP’s election. Please read our article but also Reform’s statement, in which we are described as having a pro-Labour government bias and seeking to promote our podcast. Link to our article, and podcast, in the tweet.

This is Nigel Farage, end of May 2024. Before he announced he was running, but after Harborne's "gift". "He wasn't Reform or in politics" say his remaining supporters. Evidence shows otherwise.
He wasn’t in Reform or politics a year before the election You’re so desperate aren’t you McCuntle 😂😂

Powerful: instead of celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Trump's America, Pope Leo XIV chose to stand at Lampedusa's Gate of Europe, the monument dedicated to those who rescue and welcome migrants crossing the Mediterranean.

For many years now, my people have been showing the whole world what is happening in Ukraine, and what the russians are doing to our country, our people, and our cities. You often see lines like: "When will the world finally hear us?", "World, don’t close your eyes," or "Please, don’t stay silent." Last night, the russians struck Zaporizhzhia and Sumy again-as always, brutally and mercilessly, as if we Ukrainians are not human beings, but just a testing ground, a place where they can do whatever they want with impunity, because it’s "war," after all. This morning, I see my people showing the world the horrific footage of another terrible night; as always, only the names of the cities change. And yes, the world sees everything, the world hears, the world is not silent. But what is the point of it all? What can an ordinary person from any European country really do on a global scale? We have already heard every kind of condolence, and every prayer in the world has been addressed to Ukrainians and Ukraine. Half of 2026 is already behind us. Perhaps the world has just grown accustomed to someone else’s pain. Or maybe this war has dragged on so long that everyone is starting to feel hopeless and powerless... Honestly, I don't know anymore. But I do know one thing: silence is not an option. Yet, appealing to the world no longer makes sense-everyone already knows, sees, and hears everything. And the russians act as if this is their world, or as if they’ve simply taken the wheel and are dictating the rules of impunity... I don’t even know how to end this text.

Bravo to the @Gabriel_Pogrund & team. This is the story in plain sight that needed to be nailed. Congrats are in order for getting it over a difficult line. George Cottrell has operated with impunity at highest levels of UK politics for more than a decade 1/
EXCLUSIVE Nigel Farage failed to declare that a criminal and crypto gambler paid for his staff, security, drivers, social media output in year before election Reform leader has also received free accommodation in Westminster from George Cottrell as MP thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

ZELENSKYY: Americans discussed May 9 ceasefire with Russians. No one contacted us officially, nothing has been officially proposed. This is Russia’s war against Ukraine. America and Russia are not at war with each other. What ceasefire are they even discussing? It's not serious.

Mother of god. This is already nothing short of a colossal and humiliating slap in Putin’s face. Russia has ultimately lost Armenia as part of its sphere of influence, and this is far from the end.
Arrived in Yerevan to take part in the European Political Community Summit. Many meetings ahead. The key priority is more security and coordination for all of us. Glory to Ukraine!
