Whether you voted for me or not, I promise you: I’ll work tirelessly as your State’s Attorney.
Our office has a noble mission – to represent victims, uphold the law, & make justice accessible to everyone. This is a mission I will carry out with humility & dedication. Thank you.

ALT The Cook County State’s Attorney's recent legislative proposal to strengthen diversion programs for first-time, non-violent gun possession cases is a thoughtful approach to addressing gun violence. This proposal promotes a pathway for eligible residents to come into compliance with gun owner licensing regulations while they participate in a diversion program such as the First Time Weapon Offense program. This is a common-sense alternative to costly and destabilizing prison time that leads to safer, more resilient communities. I commend State’s Attorney Eileen Burke, Senator Sims and Representative Slaughter for supporting this proposal for the benefit of Cook County residents and all of Illinois.

I'm tremendously saddened to hear of the passing of Clerk Karen Yarbrough. My thoughts are with her family and the Maywood & Proviso Township communities that have known her fierce advocacy and lifelong commitment to public service.

Who doesn’t love Manny’s? Their corned beef is so good that I buy it for my kids on St. Patrick’s Day and pretend like I made it. Love this Election Day tradition!
