Holy shit!
The title DOESN’T do this justice it should read:
“Susan Collins took Bribes; Trump FBI covered it up”
-Scott Reed (of the Collins super PAC) raised money from a government contractor illegally via a shell company in exchange for offering government contracts.
-He assured the contractor that Collins was aware of who the donation was from.
-Kao (the contractors CEO) told the entire scheme to the US attorneys office hoping for leniency.
-He provided a ***50-page document*** of details, including emails.
-In document he named other GOP staffers and members of Congress who he had bribed via this donation scheme.
-Trump had the FBI and US attorneys office drop the investigation.
New: In late 2024, FBI investigators had enough evidence to launch a sweeping bribery probe that could ensnare top lawmakers, including Sen. Susan Collins. Then Trump was reelected and eviscerated the FBI and DOJ teams handling public corruption probes. propub.li/4yLLwaF

NEWS: ProPublica reports the FBI was building a pay-to-play bribery case around Susan Collins, after a defense contractor's CEO said he funneled cash to her super PAC in exchange for tens of millions in Navy contracts. Then Trump and Kash Patel gutted the FBI's anti-corruption unit and the investigation died, just as Collins fights to hold her seat.

Somewhere in today’s dose of “scary” words from Zach Lahn, there’s something about the importance of the individual, which reminds me:
Iowa, has anyone seen Zach’s running mate, Derek Wulf, since that Register article about Republican farmers accusing him of theft and fraud?
.@ZachLahn: "You can call it whatever you want— Socialism, Marxism, Communism— but ultimately it has this idea that the collective is more important than the individual and this what resulted in over 100 million deaths across the world."
