#RIP Patrick Stewart of Star Trek and X Men ... On 12-4-1997, after getting a @PressClubDC coffee mug, he was asked, "Just from a purely logical point of view, why is it that a Captain whose name is Jean-Luc Picard have a perfect English accent?" Patrick Stewart answer here:

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

“I am telling you it is difficult to have a rehearsed routine to fit in with broken rhythm... see, rehearsed routines, lack the flexibility to adapt." Lee owned a copy of Aldo Nadi’s famous 1943 book, “On Fencing”, in his massive personal library. Instead of traditional martial arts forms, Lee weaponized two fencing concepts to shatter the opponent's timing. Tempo and the Half-beat. Fencing bouts happen at such extreme speeds that memory almost becomes useless. Gotta be fluid and flexible. Broken Rhythm

Wolff’s Law: The bone adapts to the demands placed upon it. The martial artist doesn’t break the wooden bat with a single kick. That moment is the culmination of years of conditioning, progressive loading, and relentless refinement. Bone adapts. Muscles strengthen. Technique evolves. Push your limits intelligently and what once seemed unbreakable may eventually break. The bat breaks in an instant. The shin was forged over years.
"The steel doesn't care about your excuses, your size, or your past. It forces absolute honesty. When you press against an unyielding object, you aren't just testing the metal, you are looking directly at your own soul and asking, 'Will I fold, or will it?'" - Dennis Rogers, Oldetime Strongman

Masters and senseis are generally not easily impressed, as true martial arts teachers value long-term discipline, humility, and consistency over flashy moves or temporary effort. Because they have spent decades refining their craft, what moves them is often internal growth rather than external display.

🧠 *This Simple Breathing Technique May Help Calm Your Mind in Just One Minute. What if one of the simplest ways to manage stress was already with you all along? Your breath may hold a surprising secret. Researchers have studied a technique called **cyclic sighing**, which involves taking two inhales through your nose—the second shorter than the first—followed by one long, slow exhale through your mouth. *Why might it work?*Slow, controlled breathing can influence your body's stress response and help you feel more relaxed. In a 2023 study, researchers at Stanford University found that people who practiced structured breathing exercises for five minutes daily reported improvements in mood, with cyclic sighing showing particularly promising results. Try it gently:** Breathe in through your nose, take a second, smaller inhale, then slowly breathe out through your mouth. Repeat comfortably for a few rounds without forcing your breath. The important detail? Although some people may feel calmer quickly, the technique does not guarantee instant relief or replace professional care for ongoing anxiety. Sometimes, a small change in the way you breathe can make a meaningful difference in how you feel. *Source: Balban, M. Y., Neri, E., Kogon, M. M., Weed, L., Nourber, S., Jo, B., Holl, G., Zeitzer, J. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar directly credits Bruce Lee's focus on flexibility, lightning efficiency, and mental adaptability for his legendary 20-season NBA durability. Economy of motion and efficiency dominated the hardwood effortlessly. "His fighting philosophy was to move less, but when you did, to strike explosively and efficiently. Turned out that was similar to what John Wooden was teaching us on the court about being prepared and committed. The skyhook is the embodiment of an efficient shot that requires minimal movement but sudden speed." The Efficient Unstoppable Skyhook
