Here is an interesting one. Amongst AmaNdebele in Zimbabwe, the Zulu warrior king is known as uTshaka (pronounced Chaka with the "ch" sound as in "choose" or "champion"). Among the Zulu today, he is known uShaka (pronounced with the "Sh" sound as in "show" or "shine"). Now here's the thing, a century ago, when the Zulu royal family built his memorial, here's how they spelt his name.
Also, some Englishman (Francis George Farewell) taught him how to sign his own name on documents and we have some signed documents that survived. He signed his name as "Chaka" not "Shaka" as the Zulu call him today. 👇🏾
I will leave you to guess which of the two dialects is closer to "the original"...🤣

I judge Berita here, who in their right mind will date or even marry that Nota😳? She was the problem here, for not taking herself seriously. A normal person who values herself CANNOT even give Nota her contact number haibo😭, the moment he greets, I would say VOETSEK VOETSEK

If this matrix is the measure: only Mandela & Mbeki improved anything!
De Klerk (1989-1994): GDP Growth 1.2%, unemployment rate 23%, debt to GDP: 48.7%, Murder Rate: 69
Mandela (1994-99): GDP growth 3%, unemployment rate: 23%. Debt to GDP: 45%. Net New Jobs: 479 600 per year. Murder Rate: 52
Mbeki (1999-08): GDP growth 4.3%, Unemployment rate: 22%, Debt to GDP: 23%. Net New Jobs per year: 526 875. Murder Rate: 35.
Zuma (2009-18): GDP growth: 1.9%, unemployment rate: 27%, Debt to GDP: 53%. Net New Jobs per year: 214 555. Murder Rate: 36
Ramaphosa (2018-25): GDP growth: 1.3%. Unemployment rate 31%, Debt to GDP: 75%. Net New Jobs per year: 68 333. Murder Rate: 64
At this rate, by the time Ramaphosa finishes in 2029: he will be worse than De Klerk!
FACT: MBEKI is the BEST PRESIDENT!
My Inheritance!
After the funeral on Saturday, as we packed my father’s belongings, we found a small black zip-up pouch.
Inside were bundles of Zimbabwe dollars, millions and billions stacked tightly together. Beside them were his bank savings passbooks, carefully kept, pages stamped over the years… proof of discipline, patience and a deep belief in tomorrow.
My father retired in 2008.
Those who remember 2008 know it was not just a year; it was a storm. Prices changed between morning and afternoon. Salaries evaporated before reaching home. People carried money in bags but still went hungry. Lifetime savings turned into paper almost overnight. And that is exactly what happened to him.
Everything he had worked for vanished.
From a young age, my father was a hustler. He lost his own father early and started a family at just 18, so life never gave him the luxury of waiting. He worked.
He would walk from Plumtree to Bulawayo, driving goats to sell, sleeping in the open until every goat was sold, then take a bus back home.
In 1965, he went to South Africa in search of greener pastures, and he never stopped trading. Perfume, soap, blankets, clothes, radios, bicycles… anything that could be sold, he sold.
During drought years, he sold cattle and banked the money. He saved, hoping that retirement would finally allow him to rest.
But 2008 took that future away.
Those notes and passbooks were not just money.
They were early mornings and late nights.
School fees are paid before new clothes.
History decided otherwise.
I did not inherit wealth from my father.
I inherited a work ethic. Responsibility, Endurance. And the courage of a generation that lost everything, yet still woke up the next morning and continued.

How does Hwange become Shona? What does it mean in Shona? There are people with the surname Whande and Whinya who are Shona. Do they suddenly become Ndebele by your stupid reasoning? You can’t argue for a fair point without dragging tribe? You probably wank looking at the word!

Listen clearly to this. ZRU clearly had a plan and followed it to a tee and it's paid off brilliantly. Attract all Zimbabwean passport holders and raise your global standing. Brings in money and opportunities to then grow the sport locally. It's not rocket science @ZimCricketv
This is what the Zimbabwe Rugby Union president promised when he came into power last year.
He promised and then DELIVERED.
(He was suspended early this year though)
