🚨 WHILE WASHINGTON CRACKS DOWN ON H-1B VISAS, TWO MORE AMERICAN FINANCIAL FIRMS ARE EXPANDING OPERATIONS IN INDIA.
Blackstone just opened a global operations center in Bengaluru, supporting technology, finance, HR and other functions.
AssetMark just opened a Hyderabad center designed for approximately 500 employees, with engineering and technology hiring underway.
Both are building company-controlled operations in India.
H-1B restrictions can limit foreign-worker hiring inside America.
But they don't prevent American companies from building entire technology teams overseas.
Are we protecting American jobs, or simply making it easier for companies to move the work abroad?

India’s Navy vice chief just confirmed the Navy is building quantum positioning, so its warships can operate in a “GPS-denied environment” with no satellites at all.
Quantum positioning removes that dependency. Atoms cooled to near absolute zero are extremely sensitive to motion. Measure how they shift as a ship moves, and you know where it is. No signal to jam, spoof or switch off.
India’s Ministry of Defence has already given a startup, QuBeats, about $3 million to build one.

Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.

While waiting to board a flight from Kathmandu to New Delhi, I moved to the side of a crowd in front of the jet bridge to catch up with my mother in line when I heard this man behind me say those words.
His name is Joaquin Bonilla Garcia. He's a Spanish passport holder.
When I called him out on his blatant racism, he remained silent. After the flight, upon realizing I had filed a complaint with the airline, he tried to tell me there was a "misunderstanding." But I heard him loud and clear.
I'm sharing this for two reasons.
1) I believe in freedom of speech, and I believe just as strongly that words have meaning. I think hateful statements should bear consequences. I couldn't track him down, but I would appreciate your help in identifying his community and holding him to account.
2) Racism is alive and well, even (especially?) in unlikely settings. I wasn't expecting to hear this kind of language on a flight within South Asia, surrounded by South Asian people, from a tourist who was visiting the region voluntarily. As an Indian American, I feel the pressure to be extra conscious of my behavior when I'm a visitor in another country. Clearly, others feel the opposite, even more empowered to behave badly when they are away from home.

I can compile a sequence of events from years ago and show that there were already statements about this use.
Not only that, the satellite network management software provides information about where and how the network is being used.
Only now, after Trump formed an agreement with Putin and pressured Zelensky, has Elon Musk condemned the use of his network.
No country in the world should have its security held hostage by a foreign private company.
Anyone in this kind of dependency, no matter how much propaganda they push, is nothing more than an ATM in defense terms.
