Pleased to see the results of cell bunding in key locations at Kilsallagh Bog SAC. Wide range of measures to control water levels & flows to ensure shallow water needed for Sphagnum growth & prevent impacts on adjacent land:
鉁匫utfalls
鉁匴eirs (single & multilock)
鉁匴eir+overflow

We are blocking more drains on the Sliabh Beagh bog for the @theCANNproject and @MonaghanHerita1. This will restore the function of this part of the bog, trap CO2 and improve the quality of water running into the Scotstown 010 river, a priority waterbody for @WatersProgramme

Currently, we are putting 1200 peat dams into eshbrack blanket bog, Sliabh Beagh to restore its hydrology and let the magical sphagnum moss knit the bog back together. @AnTaisce @MonaghanCoCo @theCANNproject @shirleyclerkin @RuairiOSiochain
