When Bill Clinton left office we had a BOOMING economy. He had a $128 BILLION budget surplus. Republicans always talk about "small government" "Fiscal Responsibility" and "freedom" However, they spend like crazy, bloat our government and limit freedom through their policy.

Clinton was a huge leftist tax and spend liberal his first two years in office. He suffered great losses in the mid terms and lost congress to the conservatives. He then turned around and governed from the center for the remainder of his Presidency. Whenever Libs have the exec and legislative branches they go nuts and go too far left and it's bad,.very bad.

Yes, Clinton was a leftist who taxed the upper-middle and upper-class earners in exchange for providing services to lower class folks. Which one was you or your family? My family was decidedly upper class. My dad got taxed more and also made more than he every had in his life.

Republicans controlled Congress at the time and they pushed for a balanced budget. cato.org/commentary/no-bill-…

Who was in charge of the Legislature? It was Republicans. Newt gave Clinton the line item veto that he used to cut the budget. When Dems took back the Senate they killed the line item veto.
