GameStop currently trades at ~16x P/E. That is based on trailing twelve month diluted earnings of $1.52/share, and equates to a ~$12.6B market cap. After $GME Q3 numbers are reported in early December, the trailing twelve month diluted earnings will be ~$2.30/share if my initial projections are anywhere near correct, which equates to a ~$19B market cap. That being said, P/E doesn’t have to stay the same after these earnings are published, in fact, it is anything but a given. However, if it falls lower than 10x let’s say, there will be extreme buy pressure from institutions and retail alike.
Initial Q3 Earnings Projections for $GME
The last month of Q3 (October) just came to an end so the data for the whole quarter is incomplete, but here are my initial projections having complete numbers for August and September. Will update when October sales numbers become available. Linking my August and September market reports in the comments.
- Collectibles: ~$380-395M
- Video Games: ~$255-270M
- Pre-owned + Refurbished: ~$175-190M
Total Revenue: ~$810-855M
- Operating Income: ~$149-164M
- Dividend and Interest Income: ~$60-75M
- $BTC mark-to-market unrealized gain: $65-71M (assuming full position is intact)
- $EBAY mark-to-market unrealized gain: ~$331M
Total Net Income: ~$605-641M
- GAAP diluted EPS: ~$1.01-1.07
- GAAP basic EPS: ~$1.25-32
- Adjusted non-GAAP diluted EPS: ~$0.25-30
- Adjusted non-GAAP basic EPS: ~$0.31-0.37
- Adjusted net income: ~$148-179M
- Adjusted EBITDA: ~$165-185M
This would be a third quarter in a row with record breaking earnings for GameStop! My current base-case valuation for GameStop is $32 per share (~$16B market cap), using net asset value and a standard (for their industry) 15x P/E multiple on their trailing twelve month earnings. Q3 if anywhere near my projections would update that to be slightly higher.

Why this one hits hard?
All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.
