🇸🇻 EL SALVADOR ENTERS THE AI CONVERSATION
“El Salvador's presence at Tech Week comes as the country expands its profile within international AI networks.
The government has been building a national AI framework encompassing regulation, computing infrastructure, education, international partnerships and applied AI projects.
ANIA itself was created as part of that strategy, with its international advisers tasked not simply with advising domestically but with connecting El Salvador to technology ecosystems abroad.”
EL SALVADOR TAKES ITS AI STRATEGY TO SAN FRANCISCO 🇸🇻🤖
ANIA's Ginger Luckey Gaetz is taking El Salvador's AI strategy to San Francisco Tech Week, describing the country as having “the most founder friendly sandbox environment for emerging tech.”
SAN FRANCISCO — El Salvador is taking its emerging artificial-intelligence strategy directly into Silicon Valley's technology conversation, with ANIA's Ginger Luckey Gaetz describing the country as having “the most founder friendly sandbox environment for emerging tech.”
Gaetz made the statement while quote-posting video released by El Salvador's National Artificial Intelligence Agency from her appearance at San Francisco Tech Week.
The week-long technology gathering, presented by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), is taking place October 5–11 across the San Francisco Bay Area, bringing together founders, investors, developers and technology companies through independently organized events.
Among them was an event aboard the USS Hornet, the historic aircraft carrier in Alameda, where @GingerLGaetz participated as Head of U.S. Relations for @theaiagencysv.
Her appearance reflects a broader part of ANIA's international strategy. When Gaetz joined the agency, ANIA said her role would include expanding its international network and building connections between El Salvador and leading U.S. technology ecosystems, businesses and universities.
A “FOUNDER FRIENDLY” SANDBOX
Following her appearance, Gaetz summarized El Salvador's pitch in a single sentence:
“El Salvador has the most founder friendly sandbox environment for emerging tech.”
The statement followed ANIA's release of video from the discussion, where Gaetz argued that AI regulation should establish clear boundaries around harmful conduct without creating barriers that prevent startups and smaller companies from competing.
REGULATION WITHOUT CLOSING THE DOOR
During the Tech Week discussion on artificial-intelligence regulation, Gaetz was asked where governments should draw the line as increasingly powerful AI models are developed.
“I think you cannot put a regulatory framework into place that cuts out the little guy,” Gaetz said.
Gaetz argued that overly restrictive regulation could disproportionately affect startups while strengthening the position of the largest AI companies.
“We need competition,” she said.
She pointed to El Salvador's approach as an example of what she believes regulation should attempt to accomplish: establish identifiable boundaries around harmful conduct while giving companies enough regulatory certainty to continue building.
Gaetz cited biohazard-related harm and fraud as examples of conduct that should remain subject to prosecution, while arguing against frameworks so uncertain that developers cannot determine whether products being built today could suddenly become impermissible tomorrow.
“I believe the type of framework that was put together in El Salvador” provides a different approach, she said.
“I'M VOTING FOR THE LITTLE GUY”
The argument extended beyond regulation itself.
Gaetz warned that rules capable of preventing smaller companies from competing could have broader consequences if developers in other countries continue advancing without equivalent restrictions.
“I'm voting for the little guy in regulation,” she said.
Her remarks placed El Salvador inside a much larger debate currently taking place across the technology industry: how governments should respond to rapidly advancing artificial intelligence without allowing regulation to become an obstacle to new competitors.
ANIA summarized the message from San Francisco by saying Gaetz was making the case for El Salvador's AI strategy and arguing that forward-thinking, pro-innovation frameworks offer an alternative to fear-driven regulation.
EL SALVADOR ENTERS THE CONVERSATION
El Salvador's presence at Tech Week comes as the country attempts to expand its profile within international AI networks.
The government has been building a national AI framework encompassing regulation, computing infrastructure, education, international partnerships and applied AI projects.
ANIA itself was created as part of that strategy, with its international advisers tasked not simply with advising domestically but with connecting El Salvador to technology ecosystems abroad.
San Francisco represents one of those ecosystems.
Tech Week is running across the Bay Area through October 11, with programming covering artificial intelligence, robotics, startups, venture capital, hardware and emerging technologies.
For El Salvador, however, the significance of this week's appearance is not simply attendance at another technology conference.
It is an opportunity to put the country's regulatory philosophy in front of founders, investors and developers participating in one of the world's most influential technology ecosystems.
And this time, El Salvador isn't only listening to the global AI debate.
It is entering it with an argument of its own.

Every weekend, we meet at the Bitcoin Office garage to learn, build, strive, win.
One day, they will say we were lucky but we’ll know it was the five years of showing up for the lectures, the bootcamps, and the hackathons. It was putting in the hours and the effort.
Machine Learning from first principles 🧠
Today's CUBO AI class with Camila Cruz was about building basic algorithms from their mathematical foundations, training a model and watching it predict live.
Formulas, code and patterns turned into decisions.

Excellence-only is the standard upon which my team and I operate at the Bitcoin Office.
That is because:
“The future is created by our thoughts and actions."
If we pursue excellence, we become extraordinary.
Nowhere else on earth does the Freedom Stack better than El Salvador.
Decentralized money, food, health... and now decentralized superintelligence as well.
“The future is created by our thoughts and actions. We are the innovation.” - Jeff Booth
"Excellence only" is the motto of the @bitcoinofficesv and @theaiagencysv
That's how El Salvador has become a leader in BOTH of the two most transformative technologies of our time.
Self custody. Open source. Proof of work. Innovation mindset.
"Not your keys, not your coins" 🤝 "Not your chips, not your superintelligence."
NVIDIA sees it.
That's why El Salvador became the first country in the entire world outside the U.S. to receive NVIDIA's new B300 chips during last year's Bitcoin Historico.
MIT Technology Review sees it.
That's why they're hosting their EmTech AI LATAM conference in El Salvador a few days after this year's Bitcoin Histórico.
And it's not just a model for the rest of the world...
The technology sector is a major factor in El Salvador's rapid economic growth, already bringing abundance and opportunities to more and more Salvadorans.
"Winning by design" 🇸🇻🚀
Big things coming to El Salvador this Nov 11-12! 🇸🇻⚡
If you missed it last year, make sure you don't miss it this time 🤭

Howdy folks! 🤠
Time to pull them boots on.
We are mighty proud to announce the inaugural Renaissance Rodeo — a full day of bull riding, barbecue, and good times a-plenty.
It premieres November 13th, the day after Bitcoin Historico. We’ll be celebrating Central American cowboy culture and the renaissance unfolding right before our eyes in El Salvador.
This here’s a welcome for locals, internationals, and the hardworking people in livestock and agriculture who keep this land fed. El Salvador’s growing in sovereignty, prosperity and security by the day — and who better to honor than the men and women who put food on all our tables?
Expect music that’ll get your boots stompin’, a gigantic barbecue, bull riding, horse racing, poker, mutton busting, and a whole heap of other fun to enjoy and join in. Yes. Kids are welcome and will be riding sheep!
We’re much obliged to our sponsors, without whom this rodeo wouldn’t be possible:

And here’s some good news:
in collaboration with Bitcoin Historico, anybody with a ticket to the conference will receive a free ticket to the Renaissance Rodeo!!!
Folks with boots on the ground in El Salvador can already see the wonderful, positive change this country is in the midst of.
It’s a Renaissance.
And what better way to celebrate that than with a Rodeo?
We’ll be wrangling up weekly updates for y’all in the lead-up to November and Bitcoin Week in El Salvador.
Stay tuned 🎬

We have a strategy to win.
And we are only just getting started.
a16z's @jkhamehl says the US is being outpaced on AI adoption by countries you'd never expect: Bukele put Grok in schools for free while America fights over data centers
"El Salvador, President Bukele has been super aggressive around utilizing AI. They implemented Grok in their schools for free. They're utilizing AI doctors."
"City-state countries like Singapore or UAE, where it's easier just given the population to adopt technologies and then also make it subsidized or free. You see these different examples around the world where they're accelerating their AI development and adoption way faster than in the US."
"In the US we've been seeing a lot of political tail-headwinds with data centers, and in some instances around surveillance, that are just falsehoods."
"@elonmusk's building data centers in space. We might also see the influx of a lot of this data center supply chain build-out happen overseas because of the sentiment in the US."
