Asylum for Hamas’s leader’s former bodyguard. British citizenship. Alleged terror plotting against Jews in Europe. Then a 100-year anonymity order. Every institution meant to protect this country appears to have done the opposite.
EXCLUSIVE: The former bodyguard of Ismail Haniyeh, leader of Hamas, was given asylum and citizenship in the UK — then “plotted” huge foiled terror attack targeting Jews in Europe last year

Ceuta no fue solo una crisis fronteriza; fue una crisis de interdependencias. Mostró qué ocurre cuando se tensan a la vez sistemas que solemos tratar por separado.

The emerging details are incredibly worrying here. A police/security service success but the antisemitic Islamist fanaticism driving it and other plots is rapidly becoming our foremost national security terror threat. And the political backdrop matters, @andyburnham .

It was an honor for the Counter Extremism Project team to visit Jewish Care recently and share information on the work of ARCHER at House 88 with Holocaust survivors and those whose families were directly affected by the Holocaust.
We were deeply moved by the stories and reflections shared with us. The thoughtful questions and perspectives made this a very special conversation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to spend time together, to listen and to learn.

History doesn't preserve itself. Every generation inherits documents, artifacts, and places that tell the story of those who came before us — but whether they survive depends on the choices we make today.
In my latest piece, I write about why preservation matters, and what it meant to help protect an original whiteprint of the Auschwitz-Birkenau crematoria and support the transformation of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss's former home into @ARCHERatHouse88, a center dedicated to confronting antisemitism, hate, and extremism.

Today, ARCHER at House 88 welcomed Hapoel Tel Avivfans, football players and club leadership. Hapoel is one of Israel’s best-known and most decorated football clubs.
The name “Hapoel”, meaning “the worker” in Hebrew, has its roots in a sports movement connected to Israel’s workers’ movement. Hapoel Tel Aviv’s history dates back to the 1920s, and the club has long been part of the broader history of Israeli sport and society.
The visit began with an introduction to the history of the house and a conversation about the mission of the Auschwitz Research Center on Hate, Extremism and Radicalization — and the need to confront antisemitism, extremism and hate.
For a group arriving from Israel, being in Oświęcim carried a particular significance. It was a moment to listen, ask questions and reflect on the connection between history and the responsibility we all carry today.

“While the team was preparing for tomorrow’s match, club staff and representatives visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp.
The visit began at ‘House 88,’ the former residence of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss. Today, the residence houses an international research and educational center dedicated to combating antisemitism, hatred, and extremism—focusing on the crucial link between learning from the horrific events of the past and investing in education for the future.”

Remembrance matters. It is the foundation for responsibility and for countering hatred.

This is where the rubber hits the road. It was inevitable once the US sanctioned the Egyptian MB, which has so many associates in London. Andy Burnham will now have to decide how to respond to US requests for information and action. I hope this pushes UK towards MB proscription.

100% this. 👇 structurally, culturally we have no capability to spot and stop highly dangerous people or control them after they offend. We need a complete overhaul of our risk management approach.
