I wrote a song about a guy who stresses about his gf's pizza consumption. gave Claude Code the track, lyrics, Midjourney and Higgsfield on Saturday. by Sunday lunch I had this. slop, or a new artform?
This guy's profile description says "media buyer" yet he outsources media buying to an agency for $30k a month.
PSA for tech companies trying to hire someone like Hector:
1. Build a product that's as good as WisprFlow
2. Hire any eComm growth guys who run paid ads.
Important point: don't skip the step #1
The end.
I give up hiring a growth guy in SF.
I talked to a dozen of them this month. Every single plan was the same. Wait till the product is ready. Line up influencers. Big launch.
That exact plan already killed one of our products. We waited for it to be good enough, then went looking for people with reach to vouch for us. By the time we showed up, nobody cared.
Then yesterday I watched @hectorserrranoo walk through how he built @WisprFlow's UGC program. 250+ creators. $100M ARR.
That's when it clicked. Every AI startup is trying to poach this guy, and now I get why. There are maybe a handful of people like him in the Bay Area, and they're all taken. Waiting to hire one is just another way of waiting.
Ads are creative. Influencer deals are a script. UGC is content. If your content is bad, no growth hire saves you.
So we stopped waiting. Now every day we try to put out more genuinely useful content, the kind people save and send to a friend. From day one, before it's ready.
Media loves to change the narrative as it fits them.
Telegraph reported that Nike contract from 2013 was worth £20m which is already more than everything here reported: telegraph.co.uk/football/201…

internet boys, this is what taste looks like

I actually agree with the premise of the proposal - access to capital for founders and business would solve a lot of European economic problems.
But I disagree with the bureaucratic execution through centralized Credit union.
Great essay: "In a year when almost anything can be generated on demand — an image, a track, a thousand words in any style you can name — the one input that cannot be synthesised is judgment: the taste that decides what is worth making, and what to cut." oanaleonteofficial.substack.…
I think he is somewhat right in his premise that aggression and ambition are hugely important.
Just underestimates the fact how detrimental regulatory huddles can be when you are still searching for product market fit.
"It’s underestimated how much of a difference aggression and ambition makes. I think 95% of a company's success is that.”
@torstenreil on not letting anything stop you:
“Everything else is excuses.”
“Regulation doesn't matter. Yeah sure it takes longer to start a company in Germany. Yes you have to go to a notary. Who cares?”
“It's not a problem.”
“The regulations that we are subject to as a defense company with regards to the certification qualification of our systems, export law, and a whole bunch of other things… dealing with confidentiality, classified information, is a hundred times more than what a startup has to deal with in terms of bureaucracy and you can still deal with it.”
“It still doesn't slow us down.”
“Who gives a shit? Stop making excuses.”
“I just don't like when people make excuses.”
“You just have to have a few very aggressive companies that point out that everyone else is basically mailing it in, and I think a lot of people are."
I'm not sure anymore if this guy is a parody or not
3 months ago, I sold my 1st company, Skio, for $105M cash.
Now my 2nd company, Icon, just raised $30M to launch something the world has never seen.
For $1000, we make 6 human creator ads (no AI, 100% real).
We find creators, ship products, write scripts, & edit videos.
It's risk-free:
- Full refund if you don't love your ads.
- You don't pay until you review 6 scripts.
- Unlimited human revisions.
Today, Icon introduces the world's first Agency.
We're not building a normal agency:
- We bought a $12M domain.
- We're backed by Founders Fund and OpenAI + Google DeepMind leaders.
It’s impossible to hire a creative team like ours for even $30K/mo:
- Creative Directors who've worked with $100M brands (IM8, Obvi, Ridge). They update our format library daily based on winning ads (street interviews, skits, & 20+ more).
- 12+ scriptwriters with $80M in Meta adspend.
- 200+ in-house editors who've edited 100K ads.
One more thing...
We're giving away our internal Google Drive with 1000 winning ads that have driven $100M+ in revenue.
You can make $100K copying these ads if you know what you're doing.
Want the Google Drive?
1. Retweet this post.
2. Comment "icon".
3. DM me this post’s link & I'll DM you back with the Google Drive.
[Bonus] Get 3 free human creator ads if you do the above and we end up working together.
I knew this was bound to happen the second that "founder mode" BS started.
Anyone with any business sense could see right through the narrative that was supposed to hide a declining core business and micromanagement tactics in the absence of any real strategy.
This is pretty much most of my friend's Airbnb stories
I have no clue what @bchesky is doing every day
He could stop removing negative reviews on Airbnb to make it better
When people stop believing in Airbnb listings credibility, it creates such an anxiety around booking because you simply don't know if you will have an experience like the QT below
And people will just go book elsewhere for more certainty, as I did
We live in the time of honesty and transparency so Airbnb is literally off trend
A competitor can copy your winning angle. But if you have ten winning ones, it makes copying it impossible.
AI can help you find those 10 angles. And then to create funnels for each one. This is insurance against volatility.
10 ad angles built into full funnel. This is what AI enables you now.
Each of those used to take a copywriter, a dev and a designer. Because AI is commoditizing the execution, testing all 10 is cheap now.
$5k profit a month is a small business. unless AI builds you hundreds of them
friend's proof: tiny stores ranking on Google search. one per product. searches cap out so he uses AI to create hundreds of different stores.
this is the definition of horizontal scaling
Two things that have outsized impacts on AI productivity:
1. Skills
2. Projects
Skills give AI models reusable templates of how you work to get consistent outputs.
Projects give AI models necessary context to make outputs relevant to your brand and work.
The biggest mistake when implementing AI into your business is not cleaning up your data.
This is the first step to a successful AI integration: clean up and structure your data so that you have a clean source of truth to build off of.
