This table provides some compelling statistical support for the argument I made before the Jets game...and all season. Miami changed not only how often it ran on first down, but how aggressively it attacked through the air. The contrast is striking. Miami went from attacking much farther downfield on first down to emphasizing short, manageable throws while substantially increasing its run rate. This supports my broader argument about keeping Willis on schedule, although more digging is needed to confirm. One particularly interesting detail: Week 7 wasn't Miami's highest first-down run volume by an enormous margin—Week 5 had 17 runs—but it was its highest run percentage and lowest average target depth by far.
