Very happy and excited to share that my main PhD project has been published in @CellReports this week. We identified #RABGAP1L as a novel antiviral host factor that disrupts #endocytosis to limit cell entry of viruses using this pathway. doi.org/10.1016/j.celrep.202…

Thrilled to see our recent publication on the state-of-the-art and the envisioned future of #phagetherapy to target #AMR #Pathogens.
Great times working with Brian Lennemann, @SamuelKilcher, @MartinLoessner and @timlu!
#PhageArt by my alter ego @Colorblind_Arts 🤗
Excited to share our thoughts on improving #phagetherapy through #synbio and genome engineering:

Check out this awesome #BacteriophageLamp my two amazing groomsmaids made me for my wedding 😍 I love the spiral light bulb symbolizing packaged DNA! (also don’t miss my beautiful relatives in the backdrop)

Proud to announce my second #PhageArt illustration has been published on the cover of this months @cellhostmicrobe issue. Thanks to @SamuelKilcher and @joeBondyDenomy (and all other contributors) who's innovative science makes the job easy!
Follow @FlyGeneticsGuy for the real me!
Great paper about dynamic RBP-surface interactions. Spontaneously reminded me of the famous

Beautiful study explaining why CRISPR resistance is rarely observed in laboratory settings but really important in more complex environments! Congrats! #bacteriophage #CRISPR nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Humanity faces an alarming situation in which some infections have no cure. ETH's session, "RETHINK #antibiotics" during the @BerlinSciWeek revealed the evolution of antibiotics and how novel technologies can aid in advancing their development. #BerlinSciWeek19
Proud to see our groups work (and my cover art :) ) on bacteriophage engineering to be featured as front page news of @ETH_en. Congrats to Matthew Dunne and @SamuelKilcher for their great work!
ETH researchers are using synthetic #biology to reprogram bacterial viruses – commonly known as #bacteriophages – to expand their host range. This #technology paves the way for the therapeutic use of synthetic bacteriophages to treat bacterial infections. ethz.ch/en/news-and-events/e…

Is there a better way to celebrate a @CellReports cover than with a #covercake ?
Matthew Dunne, the artist Jonas Fernbach (@Colorblind_Arts), myself (@SamuelKilcher), and @MartinLoessner getting ready to feast (from left to right)!
