Imaan and Hadi were handed down a 10-year prison sentence for removing a security barrier, while by comparison, the soldiers who carried out the massacres of D-Chowk and Muridke were handed bonuses. It all makes sense, because when a nuclear-armed cartel is running the state, tyranny is the only rule of law.

You know, the Americans might as well have opened a Guantanamo-style prison in Pakistan, given that the country operates under the law of the jungle.
Human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha deserve justice. Today they were sentenced to ten years in prison on counts of “terrorism.” Their crime? Defending activists, lawyers and marginalized communities that were subjected to enforced disappearances and unjust charges. They underwent an unfair trial for this fearless human rights work. Authorities must immediately release Imaan and Hadi and drop all charges against them.

The issue isn’t that you speak up for Cuba or whatever other cause. The issue is that you stay silent about the military’s atrocities in Balochistan, KP, Azad Kashmir, and elsewhere in your own country. And I get it. Living in Pakistan comes with very real fears. You can be disappeared overnight, tortured, or have your family threatened for speaking out. Nobody expects you to risk your life to prove a point. But if that fear keeps you silent about what’s happening to your own people, then at least be honest about it. Don’t turn around and present yourself as some fearless voice of socialist resistance because you speak up for movements abroad, where the personal stakes are non existent. Nobody is asking you to be a martyr. Just don’t sell selective outrage as principled resistance. There’s no shame in being afraid. But there’s something deeply dishonest about claiming the courage of resistance on convenient selective issues.
First they laugh at you, then they make fun of you, then they fight you, then you win. Thank you criticism for showing me that I am getting closer to victory. Long live socialism.

Aleema Khan, Dr. Uzma Khan, and Noreen Niazi were kidnapped by the Asim Munir-imposed Punjab government, led by Maryam Nawaz, on September 20, 21 and have remained imprisoned under British Raj-style detention laws ever since. A state that resorts to kidnapping women to silence political dissent is displaying cowardice.

Asim Munir’s social media accounts are normalising the potential death of Imran Khan while he remains in military solitary confinement. Rawalpindi GHQ and the government of Pakistan are responsible for his safety and well-being, yet they are subjecting him to torture. In fact, we do not even know if Khan is still alive, and Munir’s digital team is simply running cover for the military.
Youthis are crying as if Imran Khan dies, their mothers will become widows and will commit mass sati. So let’s look at the numbers: 🔹️Imran Khan's current age: 74 🔹️Pakistan’s male life expectancy: 65 years 🔹️Total sentences: 31 years (14 years in the Al-Qadir case and 17 years in Toshakhana-II) 🔹️Already served: 3 years 🔹️Remaining sentence: 28 years 🔹️Age at the end of term: 102 That is nearly 37 years beyond Pakistan’s average male life expectancy. @Kasim_Khan_1999 and @SulaimanKNiazi: Please renew your NICOPs, arrange your visits and see your father while you still can. Do not gamble precious years on the assumption that he will be released soon or live long enough to see the end of his sentence. His release remains uncertain. Time does not wait for political outcomes. And to Youthis: Stop treating a politician as immortal. He is a 74 year old human being, not the 1992 World Cup captain frozen in time. Even if you pray he lives to be 100, he will still be in jail by then.

Many believe that Israel controls the world, but in reality, it is corporate lobbies that are puppeteering global government toward outcomes that only benefit them and their collaborators. This narrative also helps shift the blame away from the US and solely onto Israel, which is obviously committing genocide on stolen Palestinian land but not without the explicit approval of the US power structure.
Blumenthal is a prominent cast member in a national security theater formed in the 1990s to reshape the globe to advance the ruling class goal of conquering human evolution – officially known as the Human Genome Project. His role is to bamboozle anti-war skeptics into believing shitty little Israel controls the world while obscuring the primary geopolitical development, which is the merging of the U.S and India into a single unrecognizable entity. Pakistan’s military establishment and ruling elite view Imran Khan as an existential threat because his focus is on improving the lives of ordinary citizens rather than serving the entrenched status quo. Asim Munir is doing everything he can to appease his backers, actively subjecting Khan to severe torture in Adiala Jail in pursuit of a grim outcome that I hesitate to even say out loud.
If the worst does happen, they may try to claim it was from natural causes or old age. My father, when he went to prison 3 years ago, was about the fittest and healthiest 70 year old man you could possibly find. He had no underlying health issues (despite being shot in the leg when the regime tried and failed to have him killed in an assassination attempt). His health is deteriorating because of the inhumane treatment he has been subjected to in prison, which the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture has repeatedly stated amounts to torture. Again, make no mistake - the regime will be responsible if he is killed in prison.

Politico: How long will Mayor Zohran Mamdani keep Commissioner Tisch in the role? NY Governor Hochul: “As long as the [NYPD] Commissioner wants.” Hochul said she only endorsed Mamdani after he promised to retain Tisch.
Gov. Kathy Hochul said it was “important” Jessica Tisch remained NYPD commissioner, even discussing it with Mamdani before she endorsed him. “She knows her role is important,” Hochul told our @jmart. “He knows her role is important.” 🔗 politi.co/4ij6szh

I accidentally ran into an old colleague who worked at the State Department at one point, and she stated that we don’t care about human rights or democracy in Pakistan, as long as the Rawalpindi military fulfills our interests and the political elite run cover for the facade of hybrid democracy.
Imran Khan, his wife and his sisters are all in prison facing persecution, and torture at the hands of the military regime in Pakistan. And yet, the Western powers continue aiding and abetting the brutal military dictator responsible for crimes against humanity. Simply because he’s compliant and useful for their short term interests.

Some stories you’ll like some you won’t and that is the whole point of independent reporting.

The Yemen conflict is over two decades old, beginning with the 2004 Saada wars, even though mainstream coverage only started paying attention in 2015. Originally, the conflict centered on northern tribes and Zaydi factions fighting the central state. In traditional Zaydism, bloodlines alone do not grant an automatic right to rule. A leader had to prove their piety and earn the active consent of the community. Modern Houthis aka Ansar Allah, have abandoned that balance. They have shifted toward an Iranian Twelver style of belief, preaching that their bloodline gives them a divine right to rule over everyone else. This religious elitism goes directly against basic Islamic teachings, which reject tribal or ancestral supremacy in favour of equality and public consensus. For reference reading: In their 2012 Intellectual and Cultural Document signed by Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the group explicitly wrote that God elected their lineage as the exclusive guides and rulers until the Day of Judgment, later backing this up in 2020 by passing a 20 percent wealth tax specifically to fund their own bloodline. Now, with the draconian foreign intervention of the Saudi and UAE regimes, external powers will do whatever it takes to protect their own power structures. Neighbouring states continue to fuel the chaos because a fractured Yemen benefits their regional agendas. Ultimately, this is an internal crisis that Yemenis must resolve themselves but unfortunately regional statecraft won’t let it happen. About DropSite’s coverage, take it with a grain of salt just like all and any reporting and use your best judgement.
Yes. I am sitting with this report in front of me, and I cannot simply nod and move on. Yemen’s war is a long, bloody, and tangled story. Drop Site News says the United Arab Emirates has been quietly helping Ansarallah, the Houthis, so they can fight the Saudi-backed forces. Ryan Grim and Iona Craig wrote it. Both are seasoned journalists. Still, ordinary readers need this in plain language, and they need the space to ask hard questions. The whole thing rests on four anonymous sources. No documents. No leaked files. No independent confirmation. Both Ansarallah officials and the Southern Transitional Council in southern Yemen have denied the claim. When both sides reject it and outside sources offer no verification, the natural question is why this story is appearing right now. In the Yemen war, the UAE and Saudi Arabia have both played major roles. Since 2015 both belonged to the Saudi-led coalition. Britain and the United States sold them large quantities of weapons. Those weapons were used inside Yemen. The United Nations, human rights groups, and the Yemen Data Project have repeatedly shown that airstrikes killed thousands of civilians and destroyed hospitals, weddings, and markets. That is fact. It cannot be denied. There is also a legal point worth remembering. When certain countries brought cases to the International Court of Justice under the Genocide Convention, technical obstacles appeared. The UAE had entered a specific reservation when it signed the Convention. As a result, some cases were dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. The court never ruled on the actual accusations. It only said it lacked the authority to hear them. That is a technical matter. It does not mean the allegations were false. It means the legal path was blocked. Now ask why the timing of this new report matters. In recent months Ansarallah has advanced near the Red Sea coast and Bab al-Mandab. Saudi Arabia has faced drone and missile attacks. If Ansarallah is suddenly labeled as “UAE-backed,” two things become possible. First, international sympathy for Ansarallah could weaken, because people will assume this is just another power game. Second, it becomes easier for Saudi Arabia to justify ground operations or further military action. Historically, both Saudi Arabia and the UAE have inflicted severe harm on Yemeni civilians. Accepting the Drop Site report as truth the moment it appears would be a mistake. Anonymous sources, denials from the parties involved, and recent Saudi-Emirati contacts all make the claim look suspicious. Readers should not lean on a single report. Compare multiple sources. Look at the historical record. Keep asking questions. The people of Yemen have suffered the most. Do not turn their pain into raw material for political narratives. Keep searching for the truth, even when that truth is uncomfortable for every side.

In the context of Pakistan, imperialism is orchestrated through the Rawalpindi military and the political elite, just like in the days of the British Raj. If you replace that equation with people-centric supremacy, imperialism dies with it. Therefore, rid yourselves of the local “compradors” before focusing on external affairs.
Thank you for saying that. Anti-imperialist solidarity is an alien concept to PTI and BJP supporters.
