Blue Wave smacked Republicans so hard DeSantis dropped the act and started talking like a guy who went to Yale and got a JD from Harvard again.
Ron DeSantis explains why the GOP "screaming socialism" doesn't work anymore: "Young people have a very positive view of socialism compared to capitalism. The question is, why is that? Some of it is the education in our universities. But I think a big part of that is, what they're comparing is not free enterprise versus socialism. What they're comparing is how government gets involved in business, and you have crony capitalism. The best kind of indirect supporters of socialism are some of these corporatist republicans who propagate these crony policies. The average person is seeing that and saying, 'Wait a minute, you're trying to bend the government to funnel benefits to this corporation or that industry. What about having a competitive market? ... Young people really aren't seeing that. They're seeing just a handful of companies that have an outsized influence on our economy and on our society"

In America, you can be the son of a single mom who survived for many months on Medicaid and food stamps, who worked for many years at McDonald's, and you can go on to become a member of Congress. Colorado, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I'll work hard to make you proud.

It was crucial for Governor-elect Aaron Ford of Nevada to bridge the divide with Trump voters on how Trump's polices actually effected them and their pocketbooks.

The flat-out denial that Jeffries will be Speaker is what baffles me. You can disagree with the outcome all you want, but pretending there’s a realistic path to someone else getting the gavel makes me wonder if people understand how the House works. Even AOC is on board. Where exactly are the votes to stop him?
These people are all in for such an unpleasant lesson in humility and on a purely petty level, I am looking forward to watching reality slowly sink in for them

This is wild. Democrats would've basically swept the state if Republicans redistricted as Trump demanded. The only survivor would've been Erin Houchin.
This is insane! Here is a map of yesterday’s Indiana House results if they were drawn under the attempted Republican gerrymander map from last Fall. Thank you to @Vulst3 for breaking down the data to make this map. The gerrymander could’ve netted us a 9-0 or 8-1 map potentially!

2024 was brutal for Dem staffers: losing prez campaign + presidential admin left a lot of folks scrambling. Now: ton of new jobs on the Hill, gubernatorial admins, state leg majorities + 2028 primary jobs to come. Good stuff!!!
gonna be a whole lot of new names added to the 2028 scramble for top-tier staffers after last night, especially with the battleground map very clearly expanding

A 20-point shift toward Democrats. Look at Louisiana. 👀 In parishes that have reported nearly all their votes, the margin shifted 20 points toward Democrats compared with the 2024 presidential election. Next step: keep organizing in every parish. 💙

There was no bigger nexus between cost-of-living & corruption than Trump’s illegal blockade against hundreds of clean energy projects while utility bills skyrocketed. Trump needs to end his war on clean energy now, and every Republican left needs to answer for it until he does.
