Not sure how true this is but Bo commands a massive salary. Without knowing what post lockout payroll has to look like, Mets might be forced to play it safe
UPDATE
With third baseman Bo Bichette choosing to return, the Mets are less inclined to aggressively pursue Teruaki Sato, per @WillSammon

Carson Benge is a National League Rookie of the Year FINALIST! 🤩
government should be boring. roads should work. water should be clean. hospitals should function. public transport should run. the taxes we pay should quietly fund all of it. nobody needs their government to be entertaining. they need it to fucking work
Nolan McLean is the first rookie pitcher ever to win a Gold Glove!
He and Ron Darling (1989) are the only @Mets hurlers to win the award ⭐

Nolan McLean has won the National League Gold Glove for pitchers.
He’s the Mets first Gold Glove winner since Juan Lagares in 2014.
He joins Ron Darling (1989) as the only Mets pitchers to win.

We’ve all known a Haley Stevens in our professional lives… and in other places.

There’s not much left to say about the #Jets. They have some decent young talent. They’ll have a new coach and new quarterback next year and we’ll see what they do. But when it’s November 1st and your season is over, 16 seasons and counting out of the playoffs, it’s just too depressing to fathom.

I don’t wanna hear any moral victory and Geno had a good game talk.
They lost. They’re 2-6. They’re awful.
We are saddened by the passing of Jerry Koosman, one of the key figures of the 1969 World Series champion New York Mets.
Koosman and Hall of Famer Tom Seaver – who made their Major League debuts on back-to-back days in 1967 – formed the top-of-the-rotation tandem that helped turn the once-lowly Mets into world champs.
On October 16, 1969, in Game 5 of the World Series, Koosman threw a complete-game five-hitter against Baltimore for his second win of the series, this one clinching the world championship for the “Miracle Mets.” The image of Koosman leaping into catcher Jerry Grote’s arms after the final out remains one of the most iconic images in baseball history.
Koosman, who spent his first 12 seasons with the Mets, won 222 games over 19 years that included stops with the Twins, White Sox, and Phillies. He won a career-high 21 games in 1976, finishing second in NL Cy Young voting.
In 2019, the Mets retired Koosman’s uniform No. 36.
He was 83 years old.
