I offer this to the โwHy DoNโt WoMeN rEpOrTโ crowd. He violently raped a 15 year old, pled guilty, and will likely walk free after just one year of a carceral rehabilitation program.
I think this is a pretty disgusting miscarriage of justice. I feel for the Zauggs, and Iโm sure their heart has broken over their son committing such a heinous crime. That doesnโt excuse his crime though. Krew Zaugg, a 22 year old returned missionary committed a violent sexual assault against a 15 year old girl. Itโs not just to be sentenced only to a rider that will have him imprisoned less than a year.
Heโs traumatized this girl for years to come, while he has a trip to Hawaii on bail - to get married - all the while this girl is in counseling for her rape. She will have repercussions for the rest of her life. This sentence is too lenient.

The only authoritarian idea I'm starting to have serious sympathy towards is mandatory civil service in young adulthood for the needy areas of society so guys like this can be forced to grow up and see what real problems look like. Auth-left friend once unironically suggested it as a solution to the incel problem and honestly finding it harder and harder to argue.
Though they'd probably manage to find a way to fuck that up too.

Very fascinating, I never would have considered that Sears would have had an effect like this at the time, but it makes sense.
It is also shocking, but not surprising, that white supremacy would try to backlash against something that benefitted black Americans despite having zero negative effect on white Americans โ bigotry is so often just pure spite-driven.
